My name is Anais, though my nickname is Moth (feel free to ask me why!) and I am an undergraduate junior BFA majoring in operatic performance at Cornish College of the Arts. I’m located in down town Seattle during the school semester months but all summer or winter holiday timeframes I can be found in Olympia!! I’m here with personal and professional experience in the face of almost any case imaginable-not an exclusively bad thing-so your pet and I can skip straight to bonding and hanging out like buddies in the living room or at the park! Send them on down or I’ll come on up and we’ll have a great time :) //How does pet care fit into your daily or weekly routine ?// I expect it will depend on the nature of pet I am sitting -regardless of species/breed. For example I have a cat in my apartment who is so elusive it’s like waking up to Santa eating the cookies left for him overnight. She and I are recently acquainted and she has had quite a bit of typical shelter trauma so needless to say she’s gonna take a long time to come out of her shell and I have to be ok with that! I won’t give up on here like others have, I promised her that. Anyhow, I clean her litter area once a week, keep her water and food bowls full and I only see her presence by the levels of emptiness in the bowls. Every pet is different, some are very high maintenance and some are a reasonable level of responsibility! It is something I figure out for certain only when I get aquatinted with the dog/pet. //How do you care for pets in your home and/or your client’s home?// I make sure that I ask for specific instructions and reminders/things to know about my clients from their owners before hand. I make sure they tell me the exact food, meal times and frequencies, habits, behaviors, command triggers, special toys/items and mentionable quirks. If they seem to have a more relaxed approach to caring for their pups I always check in throughout the visit to make sure than they are comfortable with what we’re up to! And in both circumstances I will always be taking videos and photos for updates or cute moments :)
