This is a huge responsibility.

Pet care experience

The first 10 pictures you see are my home inside and outside. My dad was a successful veterinarian so I learned how to take care of animals when I was very young. I have rescued many stray dogs and cats and found them a home and a better future. Currently, I board only one pet at a time to dedicate my full attention. Many clients have trusted me with their dogs, cats, hamsters, birds, turtles, fish and yes, even rats! Bathing and brushing my horse was honestly my favorite part of a horseback riding lesson. In order for pet sitting to be successful, I make sure your little ones are protected and having fun while in my care. While boarding, I make sure I keep him or her company all the time. When I am not pet sitting, I work part time from home so my furry friends see me and know they are not alone while their family is away. My spacious 4 bedroom 3 bath home in a gated community offers plenty of space and safety. Outside, we have miles of manicured landscape and sidewalks to get fresh air; we can go for a little jog if your pup is up to it! You can see pictures of my home inside and outside in my gallery right here on Rover. Honestly, I work doing what I love.

Safety, trust & environment

I always create a safe environment by reading the pet's energy and mood. I never rush our time together and I talk to them a lot in a sweet and high pitched voice. Even if they don't understand what I am saying, I think it helps to connect.

Information Anabel A. would like to know about your pet

Knowing if the dog is friendly or shy is helpful before I get close. I don't want to scare him or her. Some animals love people and some don't. In addition, I will ask if he or she is afraid of any noises or movements. I certainly would like to know if he has any health issues or injuries and what special care is needed. Is he friendly with other dogs and children? And most importantly, what is his or her favorite thing to play, so she has a great time with me.

A typical day

I love to play fetch in the living room. My gated community has many sidewalks, benches, and friendly neighbors who walk their dogs at all times. If your dog likes to jog, I can have her join me for my daily run. The clubhouse offers shaded areas and cold water I can put in a cup. There's always some fun wildlife around the lake to catch the dog's' attention.

First of all, I know exactly what pet parents are feeling when they drop off their little ones so I try to make them as comfortable as possible. When boarding, I walk your pet about every 2 or 3 hours and I send many, many pictures inside and outside the house so the pet parent can have peace of mind while away. I encourage dogs to walk 2 or 3 miles a day if the parent agrees. When I visit the owner's home, I like to send a ton of pictures to document the 30 minutes the I am there. Communication with clients through the Rover app is very easy, detailed and convenient. I text if the pet ate, had water, did number one and number two and how many times, etc:). If there is a change in the mood or behavior, I make sure the parent finds out right away. I always appreciate feed back. I try to improve everyday because I take my job seriously. Pet sitting is a blessing but it is also a huge responsibility. And yes, I do have a lot of fun doing this and I think the animals can tell I love them.
