Highly experienced dog enthusiast.

Pet care experience

I love all kinds of animals. I worked for three years in a veterinarian’s office and ten years at a horse stable, but dogs have always held a special place in my heart. I co-founded and ran a dog rescue for seven years and continue to help out with fostering and donations. At home, I have two dogs, one parrot, and two finches, plus my kids Emmett (18)and Luna (16). I'm proud to say I raised my children to cherish and respect animals, and they really like having so many different dogs to play with and spoil. When your dog stays at my house, s/he's part of the family. S/he can snuggle up with us when we watch TV, play with other dogs, sleep anywhere s/he likes, and even crawl into bed with one of the humans! As I do with my own pets, I am always taking pictures and videos, and you can check in as often as you like for updates. But while you want your dog to have fun while s/he's away from home, I know that the most important consideration is safety. My property is completely fenced in; your dog won't be stuck indoors all day (unless that's the way s/he rolls), and s/he won't be in any danger of getting lost or meeting a hungry coyote. There is almost always someone at home, but on the rare occasions when no humans are around, your dog will be in my room with his new friends listening to music or watching tv. In addition to a secure physical environment, I have the background -- through my work, rescue and personal dog ownership experience -- to deal with unforeseen emergencies. There aren't too many dog dramas I haven't faced in my life. I also offer drop-ins for all kinds of animals, not just dogs. I have personally owned or have cared for fish, rabbits, hamsters, snakes, lizards, turtles and Horses. I will go to your barn and turn out and or exercise your horse for you. As for cats, I have owned several in the past and curtly have two. I have many drop-in cat clients. I know all about changing litter boxes, catering to finicky eaters, and finding cats that "disappear" whenever a stranger shows up. Whether I am dropping in on your pet at your house or caring for your dog at my house, I can handle special health situations, including administering medicines and IV fluids. So I can offer you safe, reliable and experienced dog boarding and drop-in services. But there is one last component that I think is almost as valuable: flexibility. I know that animals can be as quirky as humans. Is your dog afraid of lightning? Timid with strangers? Aggressive on the leash? Just plain weird? Do I need to walk on tip-toe when I approach your bird for the first time? Will your cat hiss at me while I'm changing the litter box? No problem. I also know that pet owners can be juggling hectic schedules so I'm not going to blow a gasket when your dog's short-term stay unexpectedly turns into a long-term stay, or when you need to drop off late or when you need me to come to feed your snake with only three hours' notice. As long as we communicate, by text or by phone, then I'm cool. I roll with the punches as best I can, and if I can't, I will always let you know, openly and upfront. After all, is said and done, I want your repeat business, not just one gig, so I'll do everything I can to be the person you trust with your pet. I also do pickups and drops off free of charge as long as it’s within a mile or two. . If you would like to see my home we can arrange a viewing for you. I don't do meet and greets in my house I prefer a dog park or neutral area for both dogs to feel comfortable and not territorial

Ana is a true gem! Her enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile never cease to amaze us. It's clear she loves what she does, and our dog just adores her. We're so grateful for her cheerful and caring approach – she's really become part of the woof family!
