Family that loves dogs!

Pet care experience

*New* Find my TikTok devoted to all things dogs and maybe even find videos of your dog with us! @because_dogs_by_amye My children, husband and I have always been “dog” people and enjoy getting the opportunity to love on your dog! I know I always enjoy my trips away from home knowing my pets are well taken care of and loved on by someone we trust, so we’d like to do the same for another family and their dog(s)!

Amye was absolutely amazing! We felt so comfortable having her watch our baby over the holidays. She sent lots of pictures and updates. We will be rebooking with her every time we go out of town.

This was my first time leaving my dogs with a stranger. I was glad she spared a some time when dropping them off for me to chat with her and reassure my reservations. Sending pictures and videos was a great way to continue that trust. She was able to handle a couple of huskies, so I am sure she can handle most peoples pets. I am sure to book her again in the future.

We have a privacy fenced in backyard that the dogs have free range in when let out. We do have a shade set up out there but we do not let any animals stay outside for too long if the heat is prohibitive. We have 2 playful pups that we adopted from a rescue and would love to welcome in new friends to play! We have 2 children that enjoy interacting with our dog as well as others. They are 9 and 12 and know how to be around dogs and like to play fetch and throw toys out for the dogs to play with. I’d encourage you to also read through my “details” section towards the ends for further info. Hope you’re having an amazing day and God bless you!

Information Amye M. would like to know about your pet

Although we never require proof of vaccination, we do want you to be aware there is always the risk of any dogs contracting kennel cough when a group of pups get together- it only takes one to spread the love. Although this usually isn’t a serious concern and most dogs will get over it on their own pretty quickly, it is something that the bordetella vaccine can usually at least minimize symptoms. I do not recommend bringing any bones or toys for your baby, unless you bring enough to share with all the puppy friends. Giving one dog a bone/chew and not the others tends to end in some very grumpy dogs. The toys are fun for them at home, but they will likely get torn, lost or fought over in a group environment. We have PLENTY of bones, antlers, chew toys, and regular toys around for all the dogs to share. We DO NOT allow rawhide for our dogs, so if you bring some chews to share, please be sure they’re rawhide free. I do take pup friends from multiple families at a time and this is very common around busy holiday times. We’ve had many friends come to stay at the same time and it’s always been a fun time for them all!

A typical day

Sometimes we take the dogs for walks down our street but have been known to take them out to the lake and the dog park with owners permission. But our backyard is always a favorite place to run and play! We like to have supervised free play and understand that meeting new friends can sometimes be stressful. I watch closely for any signs of anxiety and will step in and separate if I see the need to calm nerves. I am happy to have a meet and greet with you and your pup ahead of time but I will not be introducing the dogs together until they begin their stay. I have learned that it works very well to introduce in a calm environment after your dogs have had some time to explore and feel comfortable inside after you’ve dropped them off. We’ve had great success with this method of introduction and I always send a video to you of the dogs right at intro time. Overall, it’s a fun time for all and we are excited about every new friend that comes to play!

I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule; plenty of time to love and care for your babies. My children, 13 and 10, have recently switched from homeschool to public school, so they’re not home as much as they used to be, but they love to hang out with with all the animals any chance they can.
