From the early days of working with breeding dogs scarred by abuse, their bodies devastated by mange, to aiding rescues, strays, and those with various injuries or handicaps, my journey has been diverse and deeply fulfilling. Each scenario, each furry friend, has left an indelible mark on my heart. Through love, patience, and tailored care, I've been fortunate to witness their remarkable recoveries and the joy of seeing them embrace life anew. I have known Amy Samuelsohn for 8 years. In that time, I have witnessed while we are out for a stroll, dogs gravitate towards Amy jumping up to say hello and giving her a lick as if they have known her for years. Amy has a special gentleness towards her furry clients. She loves each and every one of them as if they were her own. She comes home after a dog sitting or walking job so excited to tell me all about the dog and her experience. She is an animal lover and all around people person. Amy’s expertise has been mainly working with rescue/abused dogs, breeding dogs, dogs with extreme anxiety and separation anxiety. Amy comes in and reassures her client and immediately resolves her pet clients behavior either by giving a gentle massage while classical music is played in the background, playing with toys (a distraction for the pet owners to leave calmly without hesitation), going for a leisurely walk to exercise and get relaxed, if over stimulated. I have seen Amy work with our friend’s pets and her mothers’ dog. She is incredibly special and talented. Our friends tell me that Amy is their pet’s ‘miracle worker’. She is responsible, reliable, respectful, flexible, kindhearted, goes above and beyond whomever they have hired in the past. Amy gives so much love and doesn’t mind getting on the ground and rolling around with her pet clients and play catch for hours. I 100% recommend Amy as a phenomenal dog walker, sitter & she’s experienced in basic commands and cognitive behavioral adjustment therapy. Amy loves to learn. She will read articles and watch videos. She doesn't just take care of dogs, she handles humans too! I've known Amy and her mother for quite some time. Recently I had my gallbladder removed, and knew once I was home I'd need help with my dog Cash. I also realized I wanted someone to stay with and keep an eye on me as I recovered. Amy was my first thought knowing that this is what she does, and we'll just add-on taking care of a post-operation patient. Amy came to stay with me at my mom's house. I will admit, Cash wasn't a fan at first, but hopefully she'd warm up. Amy would take Cash out, bring her back in, made sure Cash always had food, water and something to play with. Amy would periodically check in on me if I needed anything. Every night she ordered dinner for the both of us. She was truly a great help with things around the house, making sure I was comfortable, and even made friends with Cash by the end. Not only do I trust Amy with my dog, I trust her with my life. Gosh forbid something like this happens again, I'm calling Amy to the rescue!!!
Amy has taken care of my dog many times over the years. She is extremely patient and gentle as a pet caregiver as well as reliable. My dog loves her!
I would like to tell you a little about our favorite pet sitter and new best friend to our shitzu, Brady. She has taken care of Brady and our home three times since January 1, 2024. We decided that Brady would do better if we found a pet sitter who could stay with him in our home. We have used Amy for three different stays. One was 4 days, another 8 and this last stay was 11 days. She is extremely qualified and organized. Everything was completed without issues. Brady loves her and does flips when he sees her at the door. He got at least six walks a day and numerous hugs and kisses. She took care of our home as if it was her own. I trust her completely. We book her early for long stays because we couldn’t think of using anyone else.
