i don't typically leave reviews. This was our first experience with Rover and hiring a dog sitter. We really needed and wanted someone to sit with the dogs when we had to out of town for the night and contacted Amy due to her 5-star review. We met Amy and discussed our needs and she stated that she would be in the house all night (except for a dinner) and she was in college and needed to study all night so this was perfect. We felt comfortable with the dogs in the crate from 1-4 while Amy was working her job and felt good knowing that she would be with them from 4pm on. During this conversation, we mentioned that we have security cameras on the outside of the house just so she knew that they were on at all times. That the main purpose of the cameras was to watch for coyote but we use them alot. She was with the dogs for about an hour after work then left for dinner with her cousin. She did not return until 9:48 PM. The cameras captured her letting the dogs out, and then the audio we can hear her saying "Crate" Crate". They went back into the crate and she left again at 10:05. The dogs are not used to be crated for such a long time. During her dinner time between 5:45 and almost 10pm the camera captured yet another strange occurrence. A stranger was lurking around the house. Again the Audio of the clip we could hear the lady saying Puppies barking what's wrong? The dogs were screaming, howling and barking so bad that someone walking their dog could hear them from the street and was concerned. (We have a long driveway in a wooded area :( I contacted her around 10:15 PM and let he know that I new she was there and that she had left again. That at this point and time they have been in the crate since 1 PM and i was disappointed because she was not providing the service we expected and agreed upon. The worst part is that she sent picture stating that the dogs were watching her do homework. So the dishonestly and attempt to make it look like they were spending time together and all was going well would have been believed if it were not for the cameras. The cameras revealed the timeline and the truth of coverage. I gave her two stars because they were at least let out to go to the bathroom. Because she did respond and come back right as she stated and because she did provide care to the dogs from 11:15PM. Unfortunately, we trusted her and this service and were disappointed in the outcome. We had to leave our family function and came home early.

Amy did a wonderful job with my four cats. They were well taken care of and my extensive instructions were followed very well. My cats were very comfortable with her (except for one of them who does not like anybody, lol) I am hoping she is available the next time we plan a vacation.
