Animal Caretaker Professionally
Pet care experience
Hi! I have been taking care of animals for a large part of my life. I have worked as an animal caretaker and environmental educator with two environmental non profits. I have worked in an animal behavior research lab at UF working on command training research projects for dogs. I am also certified with FWC to handle and assist endangered animals. I have a strong love for animals and am a huge pet lover. I am not easily startled by animals as I grew up with a 120+ pds dog! I also have had to handle many snakes for my career in environmental education so I feel very comfortable around pets and continuously been apart of research to monitor animal behavior!
Reviews
Amy took great care of our older dog, including giving him medication. She is very attentive and gave us regular updates, including photos of our happy dog. It is evident she has a genuine love for animals and I would definitely trust Amy with my dog again. Highly recommended!
Simply the most amazing human being I have ever met. I would literally trust this young woman with my life. She is caring, selfless, independent, intelligent, and capable of anything she sets her mind to. She has lots of experience caring for animals and is an all-around delightful person.

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize communication with pet parents! I require all pet parents to meet for a fit session before we confirm pet care. It is important to understand what each pet needs for their care to be prioritized. I also like to keep pet parents updated with pictured of their pet throughout the visits so they can feel safe that their pet is doing well!

Information Amy N. would like to know about your pet
I like to prioritize a pet’s comfort level. If your pet is particularly anxious about walks or anything of that sort I like to know in advance to make sure that the pet feels comfortable with me.
A typical day
I like to take pets out for walks so they can get some energy out and also have an opportunity for animal enrichment. I also like to play with pets if they like to play tug of war or fetch!

I am a very committed animal care taker. I have been taking care of animals professionally since 2019. I work in a nature center as an animal care taker. I manage over 20 different exhibits that house various reptiles, mammals, and amphibians. I am a committed pet parent as well. I have one dog and cat. I make sure to prioritize their needs in the morning before and after work. I have extreme flexibility with my job as a portion of my work is remote which allows me to visit homes to prioritize all pets needs for their care.
