Substitute Pet Parents for rent

Pet care experience

Our kid has paws, and that's fine by us. If you love yours like family, and want someone to treat them that way when your away, then we are the right ones for you. We are a 33 year old couple who, between the two of us, have owned all sizes of dogs. Amy will be the primary sitter and Michael will fill in or help out as often as possible especially with larger dogs. We can provide references for the people whose pets we have cared for in the past. Note our reviews are top notch! We also can look in on and take care of your kitty too, we would really be more than happy to have some kitty play time! We provide dog/house sitting, walking, visiting, animal transportation, and playtime. We come to your home which is much better for your pets; they get the least disruption to their routine this way. It's much less stressful for your fur babies if they are in their own environment. You also get the added bonus of there being an impression that someone is home throughout the day, mail isn't building up, lights go on, a car is in the drive sometimes... which deters thieves. We highly encourage communication so that we can create a custom quote that is fair for everyone. We love to bundle! We like what we do, and generally enjoy spending time with dogs better than with most people. We do not charge the full fee for multiple pets, and when 24 hour care is needed we charge less than the combined day and night rate, for a couple examples of how we bundle. We drive so we can get there even in weather, or stay if needed since there are two of us to split the duties at home and away. We have always had larger dogs together, Pitt mixes. Michael has owned a Pitt or a Rottie exclusively his whole life. Amy had tiny dogs (Japanese Chins) growing up. Our fur baby is a very active and playful 5 year old that would be happy to come along on play dates when we come to see your baby, but only if requested. For her safety, and your pets comfort, we will only bring her if they've met in neutral territory first. We love to bring well behaved dogs on trips to the dog park and are very familiar with dog behavior and capable of handling situations in that setting should the need arise. Our little cottage has a very playful Pittie and a cat that thinks he is one of the dogs, thus we are selective about boarding and prefer to only have one dog for daycare or overnight boarding. Our house is a one bedroom cottage with a fenced in small/medium back yard with a dog run. The rooms are easily closed off for separating animals as needed. Please keep in mind your dogs temperament when requesting them to stay at our home and understand that a meet and greet will be required on neutral territory (dog park preferably) to make sure the dogs are comfortable first. Thank you. We will treat your baby like family, until their real family gets back home! We also are respectful about the condition of your home, leaving as little evidence of our being there as possible besides happy pets! Our photos have been updated with shots of some of our clients now too! Our Own Furry Wall of Fame!

Amy is a lovely, friendly person who loves dogs. She took excellent care of my large dog who does not like to be alone. I would recommend Amy to my friends and family.

Amy took great care of my miniature poodle and looked after my house while I was away. My dog was very comfortable with her and it was so nice to come home to a relaxed, happy dog.

Coco and Pippa (and Lucky the Guinea Pig) had an awesome time with Amy!! It is wonderful to be able to go away and know that your pups are being loved and cared for in their own home and yard! Amy sent daily updates with pictures of happy smiling dogs who quite frankly didn't seem to be missing us at all which is a HUGE compliment to Amy. Upon meeting Amy and Michael we knew that Coco and Pippa would be in good hands and we plan to use them in the future for overnight stays as well as day visits for walks and meals.

Any and Mike watched my babies for me over Christmas. I have struggled to find a good match for my dog but they both were great with him and he seemed to love them! I could not be happier with the level of service they provided and the updates they gave the whole way through. Thank you both so much!

Information Michael D. would like to know about your pet

We like to fit in a meet and greet when time allows to discuss their normal routine, behaviors, food, medications, likes and dislikes; we basically want as much info as you think we need to make sure your dog has the best possible time with us. All shapes, sizes, ages and colors are welcome clients. No Breed-racism here (we call those people Breedists). Of course Pitties have our hearts but we are dog people through and through so we like them all. Our clients run the full range.

A typical day

We like to do what they like to do... with the hopefully obvious exceptions like chasing squirrels and eating kibble, stuff like that can be left for the dogs lol. We might cuddle up with them with a book or a movie, play on the floor with toys, go out and toss a ball or play or watch them run & play, go on a walk, etc. If your dog likes to sleep on the bed they are welcome to do so.
