Pet care experience
I volunteered at the Seattle humane society as well as taken care of my own pets. At the humane society I worked with all kinds of cats. Over the past several years I have taken care of two dogs and a cat. I fed, bathed, and accommodated for an elderly dog named Joey who was blind and deaf for a year and a half. The second dog I took care of is a Kangal named Hank. He is a mastiff and despite his large size, he was a rescue and is very timid/shy. I have taken care of him for three years and the more time I spend socializing him the more he opens up. He still has a long way to go but his progress is commendable. Finally, I adopted a cat named Bear. His previous owner adopted both his brother and him along with having two dogs. They fought terribly and Bear was the runt of the house. When first moving Bear into my apartment he was timid and scared. It took him a while to comfortably call my apartment his home and I’m grateful he is in my life. I love all animals but I am most passionate about socializing shy or struggling animals.
Reviews
Amy did a great job dropping in on my kitty. She sent a message and a picture with each visit, whichi reallyappreciated. Boots really liked her. I'll definitely ask her again.
Amy worked with my 5 month old puppy river. Who is very high energy and doesn’t like anyone beyond me. Amy kept her tone calm and caring with her and within a few meets river was excited to see her and spend time with Amy. Definitely someone you can rely on.
Amy loves pets and goes above and beyond to take great care of them. She was very attentive when watching our 140# dog Hank. She not only walked him, she brushed him and offered to bathe him. With cats she shows the same care and attention. When she was watching our cat, it was clear that she understands how to engage with shy cats to make them feel at ease. She truly enjoys caring for animals. I would feel very comfortable trusting her again with my pets.

I have a two bedroom apartment and would prefer not to house animals due to the small space. I primarily want to house sit or walk animals.
Information Amy M. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if there are extra needs for your pets and I am happy to accommodate! I have previously taken care of elderly and shy/timid dogs and cats.
A typical day
I love to go on walks to the park and socializing dogs. Going on new trails very calming for me while having interesting sniffs and sights for the pups! I also enjoy providing enrichment like playing fetch and tug of war which is great to work off their excess energy.
