Loving Trained Pet Care Expert
Pet care experience
I’ve personally raised puppies and kittens all the way through end of life care for the past 30 years. I have volunteered at the Humane Society working with dogs. I foster dogs and cats. I have gone through training to work with medically fragile kittens and cats and dogs with trauma. I’m well versed in dog behavior as well through my own dogs, dog sitting, dog fostering and my own studies.
Reviews
Amy is fantastic! She definitely knows dogs and is comfortable, capable, and trustworthy. She has been walking our Pearl for a few weeks now and it has worked out great. Pearl needs a lot of exercise and Amy takes her out on long walks with her dog, Luna, and they have lots of adventures, like seeing ducks, smelling good spring smells, and playing together. I feel so much better during the day knowing that Pearl will get a long walk and some social time!
Amy and her family were great hosts. Our dog got lots of playtime and Amy was diligent about sending us updates.
Amy took wonderful care of our dog Chester, and we'd absolutely trust her to watch our pup again! She was very thorough in learning about Chester's routines and even scheduled an informal meet and greet beforehand so our dog could meet her and her dog (they got along great!). She was attentive and kind. We also appreciated the daily pictures and text updates, hearing about the fun walks and adventures she and her family took Chester on. 10/10 would recommend!
Amy took Mooney last minute while we had some work done in our home. Mooney seemed to have a great time playing with Amy's foster and came back home happy and tired. Thanks Amy!

I make sure pets receive the best, safest care. We have three doors getting into the front and two doors to the back plus a fully-fenced in yard for them to play in. My previous dog was part Beagle so she tested the fence like a velociraptor and it kept her in. There are screens on all the windows and cats are provided their own bedroom equipped with a cat tree and toys. I also have toys, beds and treats for both cats and dogs as long as you, the owner approves of course. I’m happy to brush as much as you/they want. My house is spacious enough for them to get exercise even while inside. I’ve read and done trainings in dog and cat behavior, so I really follow their lead to make sure they feel happy and safe. On walks I make sure to give them time to smell and explore.

Information Amy L. would like to know about your pet
For boarding only, I have pet-savvy 7 and 3 year-old daughters, so please let me know how your pet is with children for boarding. I currently foster cats and dogs on and off but the cats have their own floor of the house and can enter the dog floor if they choose to through a gate. I accept a maximum of 2 dogs at a time.
A typical day
I love to walk-around my neighborhood. I live near Lake of the Isles which has plenty of great smells for them! I’m also close to Urban Tails Pet Supply which depending on the dog, can be fun to walk to. Dogs also love our backyard. My house is also spacious enough to play fetch, tug-of-war and belly rubs and cuddles.

Everyone knows I’m a huge animal lover, especially cats and dogs. I look forward to being with them and are a welcomed part of my day. I have a flexible job where I primarily work from home tutoring and advocating for children with disabilities, so I will have the capacity to tend to all of your pets’ needs throughout the day and night. I’m well versed in giving medications to cats and dogs, tending to bandages, dietary specifications, mobility needs, etc. through my experience volunteering at the Humane Society, PetHaven and No Dogs Left Behind and with my own pets. I’m also trained in cat and dog behaviors and have trained many dogs and even a few cats! All of these things are normal parts of my life and look forward to expanding that to provide the highest quality care and love for your pet, as though it was my own.
