Animal lover ISO furry friends

Pet care experience

Experienced former pet owner and outdoorsy athlete available to walk, jog, sit, and/or board your furry family member. I’m a regular volunteer at our local pet adoption center, Sweet Paws. I feel comfortable with pets of all sizes and energy levels, and can tailor my care to your pet's personality. I am good at engaging dogs and making them happy or just helping your cat or dog relax.. I have experience with Obedience and some Utility training, I even taught my dogs to play hide and seek, which they loved! I am available most weekends and weekdays for exercising and/or boarding. I've been pet sitting for my neighbors for years, and am known as the pet lover on our street. I have a very clean driving record and own a roomy vehicle to help transport your pet(s) safely. I'm happy to help with your short term needs, but ideally look forward to a longer relationship with your pet and you.

I enlisted Amy's services through Rover for a last-minute cat sitting arrangement after my initial sitter had to cancel due to health issues. Unfortunately, my encounter with Amy fell short of expectations. From the start, concerns about Rover fees impacting her earnings led to increased costs for me (she wanted me to pay for her fees along with my own). Communication was not as prompt and I was doing the checking in, not the other way around. Her tardiness on the first day heightened my anxiety about my cats' well-being. She said she was in traffic, we live 6 miles from eachother. Lots of excuses. She also said she didn't send me many pics of my cat because she didn't want to interrupt my vacation. I found that to be odd and why wouldn't I want more pics of my cats and reassurance they are in good hands? The most troubling part was Amy's handling of a camera in my home. Despite my assurance about privacy, she consistently turned it toward the wall. (I had it facing the entrance doorway) Trust is vital when giving someone access to your home, and this behavior left me uneasy throughout my vacation. She also unplugged all of my smart outlets where my lighting is as easy as saying "Alexa, turn on kitchen light". I would never go into someone's home and start reconfiguring their smart outlets. Amy's interaction with my cats added to my dissatisfaction. Despite their friendly nature, she appeared indifferent, making the experience feel transactional. Her reluctance to leave when our backup sitter arrived only added to my discomfort. In summary, my experience with Amy lacked efforts to build trust, featured poor communication, and showed a noticeable absence of genuine affection for my cats. Considering these significant issues, I would not hire Amy for my future pet-sitting needs again.

Amy and her family loved my dear Berner as if she was part of their own family. Amy kept me informed, sent pictures and my pup was so happy to be there.

Amy was great, she took the time to meet with us, go over all of Marlo's needs and preferences. She asked a lot of insightful questions. Marlo had a great stay and Amy kept us up to date with photos and updates every day.

Amy did a great job taking care of our pup Maisy while we were out of town for a week. This was the first time we left our pup with a sitter for longer than a couple days and it was very apparent from the start that she was in good hands. Amy was responsive and sent us regular updates. Will definitely book again!
