Pet care experience
We are a fun, easy going Santa Monica couple who have over 30 years of combined experience caring for pets. Our 11 year old Maltese recently died, and we'd love to shower love on your fur baby. We are both originally from Texas; Josh grew up with a biology professor mom (he learned a lot about animals!), a herd of large dogs, and cats. Amy grew up caring for her family’s pets—dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks—and has a medical background (in humans). We have hosted our friends’ pets when they go out of town, and want to extend this to others. We’ve used Rover for our own pups and hope to provide the same security of love and safety for a pet that we’ve received.

Amy & Joshua took such good care of our fur baby Leia. We knew she had a great time with them because when it was time to go home, she wanted to go back in with Joshua. ? They were very good at providing updates and pictures to reassure us that Leia was okay while we were away. We'll definitely use them again next time we need a sitter in the area.
Amy and Joshua took such great care of our dog while we were out of town! They sent updates with photos and were so easy to communicate with. We recommend them for anyone looking for a place to board their dog!
When we need a dog sitter or dog walker for our four pets, Amy Shekarchi, is the first person we always call. We have four distinctly different breed of dogs and have been using Amy for the past 4 years now. On days I have to work late or go out-of-town., boarding my “furbabies” is very cumbersome (not to mention costly) and I prefer that they be in the comfort of their own home and surroundings. Amy has a true love for canines and it’s evident in her approach to her care. She is attentive, reliable, and takes amazing care of my brood, especially since two the pooches don’t usually get along. We try to maintain any routines you have for them- crating, sleeping in the bed, etc. In our home, dogs are family - we try to keep them comfortable and happy throughout their stay (it can be hard for them in a new place) and try to go off of their cues when it comes to playing, petting, and activities

A typical day
We like to go on walks as a family and would love to take your fur baby (if that's something they'd enjoy). We have a long gated front area in our complex that is perfect for playing fetch. Dog parks are also a fun option; our fur baby got too overwhelmed by them but if your dog enjoys going, we'd be happy to take them!

Availability
On weekends, we are home all day and pets can be the center of all attention and activities. In the week, we both work out of the house, so the pet should be okay to be home alone for 6 hours. We are happy to do morning walks and playtime before we go to work and when we come home. When we come home, your pet is the center of our attention
