Pet care experience
Kitties welcome! We know how hard it can be to find cat boarding options, and provide a welcoming home full of sunbeams, snuggles, and soft places for snoozing. We're conveniently located between the Pointes and Indian Village for quick dropoff en route to the airport. My husband, James, and I have a combined 32 years of experience caring for cats, dogs, small animals, and reptiles. Our girl Sleater Kitty is a tolerant hostess who spent most of her life with another cat. We're experienced with caring for senior cats, including administering oral medications and special diets. Cats are best suited to our space, but we love dogs, too! I am auntie to a Great Dane named Stella and have a particular fondness for large breeds. For dogs, we’re available for house sitting, in-home visits, and dog walking in the Villages and Islandview.
Reviews
Amy and James = still the best. Thank you for both good care and great communication!
Thank you so much! Drop-in visits went beautifully.
Thank you so much for the drop-in visits over a holiday weekend! All went so smoothly.
Amy & James were perfect hosts for our cat. Very kind and caring towards her and took amazing care of her while we were away. Would absolutely leave her with them again.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home comes with many cat amenities: - Pocket door for partitioning the house into "your cat's space" and "our cats' space" until they are slowly introduced (or not! depending on their preference) - Ability to give meds and manage the most high-maintenance feeding regimens - we've seen it all! - Sunny bay window for catching some rays - Many soft couches and chairs with cozy blankets - "cat hammock" in the box spring of the spare bed - radiators for laying on in the winter - screened in windows that we'll leave open for nature viewing (weather permitting) - catnip toys, string, cardboard boxes - scratchers - two lazy humans who love curling up with Netflix and a cat. - daily maid service (cat box scooping)
Information Amy & James E. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your cat is aggressive or particularly frightened with other cats - we may need to keep our cats separated from them for safety. If they have any food sensitivities, please let me know so I can find a way to keep food separate, too.
A typical day
A typical day is feeding time, cat nap time, playtime, more naps and snuggles, and dinner, with some zoomies and playtime afterwards. We give cats as much or as little attention as they need.

Availability
We generally book stays over long weekends or holidays when we plan to be home the full time. I work full-time, but if we have guests I'll see my patients for the day and work from home from 2:00p onwards. This means that on a weekday, your pet will be alone for a max of 6 hours. My husband occasionally works from home, too, so during a 1-week stay, your pet can expect 3-4 six-hour blocks of alone time for napping, with humans around the rest of the time.
