🐶😻 customizable care for your pet
Pet care experience
Experienced, life-long animal lover here! How can I help take care of your pet? I’m available for dog walks/runs, play dates, drop-in visits for cats and dogs, and anything specific that your pet needs from prescribed medical maintenance to leash training. 🐾 I’m always learning about dogs and companion care. Currently studying a canine psychology course online at Duke University. My first job as a teenager was at a vet clinic, and I spent spent 7 years running an nonprofit in Bolivia and rescuing street dogs. I’ve been petsitting for years and working via Rover since Sept 2018. I love it! How can I help take care of your pets? How can we customize the best care plan for your pet? Walks? Fetch in the backyard? Kibble or treats? A fresh, clean litter box everyday? I will care for your pets as if they were my own. ❤️ About me: I'm a 42 year old professional with a flexible schedule, and I'm able to care for your pet/s with patience, love, and experience. I have cared for pets with special needs and severe health issues, so please don't hesitate to ask. We can come up with the perfect plan for your fur baby. I grew up with dogs, cats, turtles, fish, hamsters, etc. After college, I founded and ran an NGO in Bolivia and began rescuing street dogs on the side. I worked closely with my vets to care for their health needs, rehabilitate them, and find loving, forever homes for each one. I even brought my own 4 rescue dogs back to the US, and they’re currently living pampered lives despite their past traumas and some serious health issues. So I'm very experienced with pets that need extra care, understanding, medicine, and special treatment. I love exercise and outdoor time with dogs and will happily take them out for a run, out to play, or just on a stroll to get their wiggles out. And nothing is better then furry snuggles, so if your dog or cat prefer the indoor life, I’m happy to oblige and pamper.
Reviews
Amy was fantastic! She kept us updated and sent plenty of pictures so we never had to wonder how he was doing. She took Moose on plenty of walks and hikes. Will definitely use her again in the future!
Amy is responsible, on-time, and works with animals beautifully. She makes a big effort to know the personality of the dog (ours is both energetic and distracted at times) and exercise them.
Wow. We are so lucky to have found Amy. She is the best pet sitter we have ever had. We left our cat for the first time ever, and she got so much love and attention that I don’t think she missed us much. Amy played with with all her favorite toys and gave her plenty of attention. Amy sent us pictures everyday, and gave a daily updates of our cat’s activity and eating. Amy is a true animal lover at heart.
Amy is absolutely incredible! She is very intentional with taking care of my pup and leaves thoughtful notes on the rover card. On our initial meeting, I really appreciated that she asked to know what my goals with the dog are, which is so nice because consistency is so key, especially during training. It’s plain to see she is truly compassionate and my dog is super happy when I get home from work. Amy is always prompt with responding and I am so happy to have found her! Highly recommend!

I care for every animal as if they were my own. ❤️ I love walking dogs or playing fetch— anything to get their wiggles out! I’ve even had clients’ dogs who need full runs everyday, and I love the exercise for them and for me! I take time to play with kitties and snuggle them when I do drop-in visits so that they aren’t bored while home alone.
Information Amy J. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to know of any health issues or food sensitivities, the name and location of their regular vet (in case of any emergency), and whether or not they’ve been socialized with other animals. I do have experience walking reactive dogs and leash training young pups, but knowing the situation in advance is helpful!
A typical day
I customize our time together to what each animal and pet parent need. I take extra time to play with and give affection to kitties while their families are away. I love walking dogs or playing fetch— we can play in your yard or go for a nearby hike. I’ve even taken young dogs out jogging!

I’m studying remote from home, so I have a pretty flexible schedule for dog walks and drop-in visits. I mostly work in the Biltmore Park neighborhood.
