Animal Lover, Exceptional with Dogs
Pet care experience
Leaving your pet behind can be a very hard thing to do. If you can’t take them with you, I want you to feel confident that they will be loved just as much in your absence, so when you return you have a happy pup and no guilt inside from not being able to take them with you! I have loved animals since I can remember. I love all types, but dogs are my specialty! I have dog sat all my life and will treat your baby as if it was my own child. We have a big yard and safe neighborhood to do lots of playtime and walks! I can do some basic puppy training (sit down, work on potty training) through positive reinforcement. I am great with active and high energy pups and dogs! We have a 13 year old yorkie who is partially blind. I am also very strong if larger dogs need assistance moving around or going to the bathroom. I can manage senior care if they need daily medications or ointments. I have mild grooming experience.
Reviews
Amy is fantastic! She took great care of our our dog Cooper. We highly recommend her!
Our dachshund Linus loved it there. He whined when we left with him. He wanted to go back. Thank you Amy.
Amy is an animal lover through and through. She is so attentive and caring to her own dogs and whoever else’s happen to be around. For example, I have an 13 year old schnoodle and Amy took it upon herself to clean his ears without my asking and he loved it! At the same time, she is respectful of the owner’s desires and is perfectly willing to follow strict rules and care instructions. Her extensive experience raising, fostering, and adopting dogs makes her a complete natural when it comes to knowing what is best for your pup. She has handled all varieties of dogs... big, small, playful, timid rescues, and nippy puppies. Amy is responsible and responsive and may just take care of your dog better than you do!
Amy is an amazing dog mom to two fur babies - one senior dog who is still spunky and kickin’ and a young dog she rescued as a puppy after she was found abandoned at a home nearby. Her dogs are just like two more kiddos to her. They are absolutely doted on, they get to come on family vacations, even if that means planning the vacation around them, and they have the sweetest personalities and love their humans. I’ve also seen her interact and assist with other family and friend dogs, including a blind senior dog, and my own 15-year old golden retriever who needs some extra love and attention. I would absolutely trust Amy with my two fur babies and know she will treat your dog like much more than a job!!! Bonus: Amy is also just wicked awesome herself.

Our dogs are our family and we are very careful to keep them leashed when outside, as we don’t have a fence, but love playing outside. I will make sure your dog feels safe and secure at all times with lots of love however they need it! We will follow any dietary restrictions, medical schedules or any special requests. We do request no aggressive dogs for the safety of our children and our own dogs. We have ways to separate with gates in our home if necessary at any point. We do have an indoor/outdoor cat but she is confined to one room at night and out during the day. I will send photos and videos as often as you want! I love capturing pups in action, snoozing or just being goofy!

Information Amy J. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to know as much as possible about your dog! Quirks, loves, fears, triggers, or what I may need to look out for or reactions to certain stimuli. (For example: My yorkie goes crazy over trash bags). Feeding schedule, medications, exercising, and typical warning signs of needing to use the restroom. I’d love to know the breed ahead of time if known, or if your dog is a rescue.
A typical day
We start each morning with a walk up the road to explore new smells, watch critters in nature and take our potty breaks! Then we have morning feed, play time, and nap time. If dog needs more exercise we will go for a longer walk or run through our neighborhood. If smaller senior dogs need to be carried I have a stroller and or dog carrier to do so! More nap time and snuggling and short walk in the afternoon. Lots of loving on the pup throughout the day! Our area has lots of trails if your dog is up for a hike. Visiting pups are free to sleep on my bed at night if they’d like.

I work mostly from home and have all the time to make sure your pet’s needs and wants are taken care of! Lots of short walks and long walks if needed and tons of playtime and snuggle time. I have two dogs, and our heeler especially loves a good playmate! We have two boys, 6 and 9 who are are respectful and have “dog manners” and love all the dogs. My husband is a huge animal lover as well. I never leave our own dogs longer than 4 hours. This will be your dog’s home away from home!
