Amy, trained for 15 years by Zeus
Pet care experience
I am a dog lover and former dog mom who has recently lost my beloved boy Zeus after 15 wonderful years together. I adopted Zeus as a wild, very furry, stubborn, 1 year old super-mutt from the King County Animal Shelter in 2009. He won me over with his smile and positive attitude and I was willing to take the training courses to learn to be a good pet owner to this happy guy. Over the years, Zeus and I fostered dozens of other dogs through the Seattle Animal Shelter and private rescues. For Zeus, I bought a fully fenced 1000 sq ft yard in north Ballard for dogs to run around or lounge in the sun. The house is 100% dog friendly with dogs allowed on the furniture and bed. A house is too quiet without a dog and Zeus would want other dogs to get to enjoy his spacious yard. I am semi-retired so I don't work outside the house...just the occasional conference call for one of the non profits I work with. I am home all day to play with the dogs in the yard or take walks. The dogs never go more than a couple hours without a potty break. Inside I have baby gates available if any dog needs their own quiet space. I am home all day when I pet sit, so the dogs are always supervised. If I do need to go out briefly, I make sure my dog and our visiting dog have their own private space with a bed, food, and water and I am not gone for long.
Reviews
Amy was wonderful! So communicative and provided plenty of updates & photos. You can tell she truly loves dogs, will definitely book again!
Amy was amazing! My dog was at the tail end of recovering from her spay, and Amy was super helpful with making sure my pup was still able to get her energy out while monitoring her medical needs. She sent lots of photo updates. Would highly recommend!
Amy’s great! She sent several photos of my dog having a blast and relaxing at her home throughout my time away. She was also very easy to communicate with. Would recommend her to anyone looking for ease boarding their pup while they’re away!
Amy took great care of my husky/retriever mix while I was out of town. It was obvious she cares about the dogs and makes sure they are comfortable while you are away! Highly recommended!

Information Amy D. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know if your pet is shy or extroverted, friendly or anxious so that I can provide a happy environment for their visit.
A typical day
A typical day would be letting the dogs into the yard when we first wake up and then making the dogs breakfast. After my morning coffee, we like to take a walk through the neighborhood and get our steps in. I don't typically take visiting dogs to the dog park for safety reasons. But my yard is like a private park where we can play fetch or the dogs lay in the grass on the sun. We get another walk in later afternoon. In the evening, dogs usually get belly rubs on the couch.

I am semi-retired, so pet care is at the top of my agenda when dogs are in my home. Daily walks keep all the beings in the house happy.
