Skye & friends - Sabden, Clitheroe BB7

Pet care experience

Hi, i'm Amy and i'm a retired nurse living in Sabden with my boyfriend & our Labrador Skye. I've grown up with dogs all my life, at one point we had 4 in our family. Before my nursing career, I've done a previous degree in animal behaviour and welfare and volunteered in several animal shelters, zoos & also in South Africa. I love walking and go on walks everyday with Skye. Our favourite walk is through the fields around Pendle hill. Skye also loves going to the beach. I would like to look after your dog to join us on our walks. I have a secure garden suitable for your dog to stay with me. I love dogs and I'm an experienced dog owner, with over 25 years experience. I have several dogs that I look after on a regular basis and also happy for over night stays if needed. Skye is very friendly towards humans & other dogs. Please only book with me if your dog is friendly towards other dogs. A meet and greet WILL be arranged to ensure that both dogs are compatible. *** IMPORTANT *** I have spinal condition and If your dog pulls on the lead it wouldn’t be suitable dog for me. HOWEVER - my boyfriend is around a lot (as he works shifts). My boyfriend joins me walking & looking after the dogs I look after. Please do message & I can let you know if I can be of assistance. I’m always at home to care of your dog. Giving you peace of mind that Your dog will never be left alone whilst boarding with myself. I have a walled garden to ensure that your dog is safe. I offer doggy day care and dog boarding. I take one dog at a time, unless you have two dogs.

Barney has just returned from a 5 night stay with Amy and Skye. As always he ran to the door, greeted Amy, her husband and Skye with lots of kisses and made himself at home as soon as he'd walked through the door. Barney struggles to settle if we take him on holiday or to anyone else's house but he's never had an issue settling at Amy's which speaks volumes in itself and reassures us that he's in the right place. He'd much prefer to go to Skye's than come on holiday with us! Barney has epilepsy so is a very special, delicate young man but Amy knows just what to do if he has a seizure, knows what his triggers are and also administers his daily cocktail of medications that he has to have at regular intervals, she also recognises if anything is different. Amy keeps us updated and I honestly would not trust anyone else as much as I trust Amy with Barney - we never thought we'd find anyone who could take as much good care and also love Barney as much as we do but we are so glad we have :)

Barney has just spent another couple of nights with Skye and his adopted family. As always, he was very excited when he arrived and made himself at home straight away. Barney has epilepsy but we know Amy takes good care of him and knows what to do when he does have a seizure so it's reassuring to be able to leave him and not have to worry. Amy always keeps us updated and sends photos and we know he is in the best hands and loved and cared for. More details in my previous reviews but we are always confident that there is nowhere better for him - it’s a complete home from home 😊
