Born animal lover here! I adopted my first cat at the age of 9 and have had a house full of pets ever since. I first started pet-sitting while attending university, eventually starting my own business, "The Friendly Pet Sitter", which kept me busy for several years. I closed up shop after the birth of my fourth child, but would become involved in animal rescue a few years later. It started with one foster puppy, and 11 years later, I have fostered literally hundreds of dogs and cats. I have fostered everything from puppies + kittens to seniors, diabetic animals, post-surgical rehab and behavioural cases, bottle babies, and everything in between. I completed the Cochrane Humane Society's training apprenticeship program, putting in hundreds of hours working with shelter dogs. I have a great understanding of canine behaviour and use only positive reinforcement handling methods. My animal-loving teens have grown up rescuing animals and there is never a shortage of attention to go around.
