Animals are my passion!
Pet care experience
My name is Amy, she/her/hers, and I love dogs! I have been known to make them pee with excitement, and I feel the exact same! My best friend is a world traveler. While she adds pins to her map, I get the privilege of hanging out with her two dogs! She has a eight year old that is an Australian Shepard rot mix and a five year old that is a Husky collie mix. I typically have them anywhere from two weeks all the way up to our personal record of five months together. As a bonus, I am excellent at giving medication and vaccinations to dogs that require additional care. No worries, I grew up with cats and other small animals and enjoy caring for them. When I moved to Indy earlier this year in hopes of utilizing my communications degree, I knew I wanted to get started on Rover. I moved from a small town, not very app-savy. Joining Rover has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Along with checking on friends’ dogs/cats, and doing Rover, I also work for a local pet sitting service. So while I’m home most of the day, I will be out some afternoons on walks/check-ins. I live in a safe apartment in Castleton. While I don’t have a fenced in yard directly out my front door, I do have a dog park in my complex. We also will go on walks on the sidewalk/trails in my complex. All other regular potty breaks will be leashed in my section of the yard. Occasionally I will book multiple dogs at once, with the caveat that all dogs are good with other dogs. Obviously people have dogs here, but honestly in my area there really aren’t very many. Please let me know if you have any questions! I’m fully aware that these are your babies, so ask away! I have a rather quick response time. Do not be afraid to book last minute. This is my passion and I would love to accommodate your pets!
Reviews
Amy did a great job with our pets. She really exceeded my expectations and communicated well. We have now hired her twice and are very happy.
Let our dogs out on a holiday and spent a while making sure they got good time outside and attention.
I really liked Amy when we met & she was very kind, but I did struggle with her as a house sitter specifically. We talked about schedule a bit while exchanging keys and she expressed hers being flexible. With house sitting, you know there is an expectation of your dogs being in the kennel for some time for sure, but I wish I had asked or Amy had expressed more clearly her schedule. Most days, the dogs were left for six hour+ stints multiple times, and each night, Amy didn’t come to my apartment until after midnight for the night, which made me anxious and was probably tough for my dogs who benefit from me working from home with little kennel time in general. On the final day, they were left in their kennel for ten hours (though I expressed six was typically the most they could go) and only had a twenty minute walk before being left again for six hours. I did have someone else in town come to stay with the dogs to ensure more time outside of their kennel was possible to bring me some peace of mind. My dogs were fine and my house was well cared for, but I would intentionally ask about schedules if you’re hoping a house sitting will reflect a certain amount of non-kennel hours (outside of sleep).
My dogs loved Miss Amy!

Information Amy C. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know your dogs’ sleep schedule, eating schedule, and if they take any medications. I also need to know if you want them crated when left alone or if they’re good with other dogs.
A typical day
A typical day starts with going potty and getting breakfast taken care of. Usually I’m in and out but always home for an afternoon walk. In the evenings we play, eat dinner, and relax.
