Ask me about my behavior services!

Pet care experience

I'm great with special needs, seniors, and administering complex medication regimens, including insulin! I studied animal behavior and cognition in college and have an MSc in Primate Behavior and Conservation. I've always had an enormous love of animals and my love for animal behavior started pretty early in life, too. One of my favorite things to do is work with animals who have trouble trusting new people or are a complex case most sitters are too wary to tackle. I know how hard it is to be away from your babies, so I send plenty of updates, videos, and pictures. During a stay, I can help stay on track with whatever training regimen you have going. I'm also experienced in dog training, so if you'd like behavioral services like training sessions or behavioral modification during your stay, let me know(this is independent of Rover). If you'd like me to work on leash etiquette, pulling, etc. during walks, I'd want to do an initial consult with you and your dog, but following that I can add on a training fee to walks. I am between my Master's and my PhD at the moment expanding on my dissertation research working towards publication so when I'm not walking dogs, I can easily work wherever I'm needed. I tend to keep a pretty regular sleep schedule and am good at following routines, so your pet will experience a predictable, calm, and reliable environment. I will keep you consistently up to date with check ins, photos, and videos. I am very respectful of others' spaces and always check (and triple check) locks.

Amy had a big challenge taking care of my dog Haley for the weekend. Haley is diabetic, requiring insulin 2X per day and extremely nervous, skittish and freaked out by new people. Amy was wonderful and by day 2 had Haley's routines met. Amy kept me continuously up to date with Haley's progress. I will definitely use Amy's services again.

I typically don't keep my eyes off your pups for very long. I double (and sometimes triple) check locks prior to going to sleep and when leaving. Prior to check out, I'll throw sheets in the wash and typically do a quick clean of floors and counters. I know it's always nice to come back to a house cleaner or as clean as you left it!

Information Amy C. would like to know about your pet

Any past fights, aggression, triggers, etc. Any behaviors to look out for that you don't allow, if you'd like me to work on any commands, and whether they are stranger or other-dog aggressive so I can be sure I walk them safely.

A typical day

I'll be glad to take your dog to a nearby park and play with them or just keep it quiet on a regular walk! During a visit I'm glad to play with your dogs, provide enrichment, and keep up with any current training!

My hours for drop ins and walks vary, but I can typically provide walks and drop in services from Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30-4:30 pm. For overnight sitting, I typically stay for ~12 hours. Given this is my full time job and I have clients during the day, anything beyond these 12 hours will require an additional drop in or walk service booked.
