They say your largest fear carries your greatest growth. Ain't that the truth! The story starts when I was chased home from a playground as a little girl. A dog climbed the stairs of the slide, slid down behind me and raced me home. I tripped in the garage and the dog trampled over me and into our home. Imagine how scared a kid may be after this and x100. Even years later I was the ridiculously awkward adult who hid behind sofas if a dog was in the room. All that changed when my husband and I got our first dog. Grizzly Bear Benoit, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Ever heard of them? Have you heard of the Bernese Mountain Dog? I like to say that Swissies are like the Yellow Labrador to the Golden Retriever (or in this case Berners). Very similar demeanor and look but with short hair. I wouldn't have known any of this five years ago. I had a DEBILITATING fear, but it's true what they say: Your largest fear carries your greatest growth. Grizzly undoubtedly changed me forever and for the better. I've always been a mama bear, but for humans. Now I offer professional dog services and am looking into longterm foster opportunities. Last year I even had the opportunity to sit a dog in New Zealand for a few weeks! From debilitating fear to international dog sitter. Life is beautiful.
