Hi, I'm Amy! I already love your pets, and I can't wait to meet them! :) Time spent with humans is often a pet's favorite part of the day. It can be tough on our beloved furry family members when their favorite humans have to be away. It's tough on us, too! I'd love to help you and your babies through those times. Our pets have their own opinions on things, so if I have never met yours before, we can schedule a free meet and greet to see what they think of me. I'll also take a few measurements to ensure I have properly fitting safety gear (see below) for our walks and outdoor time should you decide to book with me. This is also an opportunity for you to tell me all about their preferences and quirks, so things go smoothly and safely when you aren't there. I'll take good notes and prepare a checklist to reference just for your pets. I CARE ABOUT YOUR PET'S SAFETY Scroll through my profile photos to see the safety gear used for all client dogs. These items ensure, in the very unlikely event your dog gets loose, she/he will be safe and recovered as quickly as possible. I also work on recall with your dog on every walk. My equipment is well cared for, and inspected every day for any potential safety issues. I also bring towels to clean off muddy feet and wet fur after outside time. I WORK TO GAIN YOUR PET'S TRUST AND CONSENT. I do not use aversive practices or equipment (prong or choke collars, shock collars, bark collars, or punishment of any kind) for walking dogs or any handling of animals. I am very experienced with positive reinforcement and bring healthy treats (approved by you of course!) for walks, to encourage and reward your dog's awesome leash manners! This helps set boundaries and expectations in a fun way, while we get to know and trust each other. I'm fine using toys or a few pieces of their food as rewards instead of treats if your dog's diet cannot accommodate the treats. About me! I have one cat and two dogs. They are my heart! All are rescues, some have health issues, one dog was terrified of the whole world when I adopted him. With quiet, calm encouragement, he has become a surprisingly (if cautiously) outgoing little stinker, and the best adventure buddy I could ever have asked for, my ride or die! My other dog is a high energy, SMART, athletic goofball who requires savvy, calm, consistent leadership and lots of physical and mental exercise to live her best life. She had no training or manners when I adopted her, and now knows lots of tricks, including jumping through hula hoops. The pups are young, my cat is 11 years old. Sadly, in early 2023 we lost our two elderly kitties at 18 years old. We've been through it all with them...renal disease, asthma, medications, special diets, old age, and end of life care. I've seen it all. Bottom line...I know exactly how difficult it is to entrust the care of your beloved pets to someone else. I take your concerns and your trust just as seriously when you place it with me. My word is everything. If I say I'll be there, I'll be there. I'll follow instructions and do everything I committed to do, and communicate any issues that come up. I'll always put the safety and well being of your pets first. I will take the time to learn what motivates your pets, and to earn their trust as well. I'm a lifelong animal lover, pet owner, and very experienced in safe outdoor adventures of all kinds with my own pups.
