I have taken care of dogs in different capacities starting at a young age. My family and I would volunteer at a local humane society where we would talk dogs as well as foster dogs on occasion. We had a great relationship with the place and fell in love with a dog there who became a member of our family for over 10 years. Later on as an adult I volunteered at the St. Paul humane society on the weekends as a dog walker. Many of my family members and friends have dogs that I have taken care of for extended periods of time. I am a teacher and have a relatively flexible schedule during the summer months to dog sit for people with last minute dog sitting needs. I am available days and evenings. To care for a pet in their own home, it's important to maintain their regular schedule for outside time, walks, and when they eat. I'd be sure to follow the expectations of the owner since they know their dog best!
