Amy’s Boarding and Daycare

Pet care experience

I have had dogs since I was born and began taking care of my own dog at 12 years old. I have experience with all ages and life stages, including basic training. I have also volunteered with local animal rescue organizations as an adoption counselor and pet socializer.

Amy was awesome! Finn was very happy and tired when I picked him up. I will use Amy whenever she is available!

Amy was awesome! Super accommodating and great communication. Igor had a great time playing with Oliver. He was treated with great care and I know he would be excited to hang out again :)

Amy was AMAZING! We contacted her for last minute boarding and she was so accommodating, patient and helpful. We got periodic updates with photos during Bean's stay. We loved that and it helped put our minds at ease as Bean can be nervous in a new setting. In fact, the reason why we turned to DogVacay.com is because our dog was coming back from typical boarding facilities extremely upset and sick. After being with Amy, Bean came back happy AND tired (after all the outdoor walks he had). Thank you Amy!!!

About me: I work a 9-5 during the week, have a three year old son, and am a lifelong dog lover. Our family recently lost our fourteen year old pup,Oliver. I’m not ready to get another dog so thought watching other people’s pups would be a nice way for my son and I to still have regular interaction with dogs. I have volunteered with animal rescue organizations. I have experience with and am comfortable administering any medications your pup may need. About my home: I have a spacious two-bedroom apartment with a small fenced in patio a few blocks away from McGolrick Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I can guarantee at least three walks outside with your doggy and constant supervision (and snuggles) when they are in my home. I keep my apartment very tidy and smoke-free. My apartment is about half mile from the L at Graham or the G at Nassau. I have a large crate if your dog is used to sleeping in one, but am ok with your doggy sleeping anywhere in my home (including in bed!). Meet and Greet: I prefer to do a meet and greet with new clients. We can either meet at the park, my apartment (so you can see where your pup will be staying), or another mutually agreeable location. I will consider a new client without a meet and greet following a phone conversation. In either case, please propose a meet and greet using the link in my profile. A surcharge of $10/night will be added during major holiday weekends.

Information Amy C. would like to know about your pet

Since I have a young child, I need to know your dog has been around children and is comfortable with a child that has experience with dogs and cats. While my son understands letting a dog approach/smell his hand first, gentle touch and calm energy when handling pet friends, he is still a child who can be loud and make sudden or quick moves in general. I also love to know exactly how you want me to care for and handle your pup - such as how many treats you’re comfortable with your pup getting, how much play time they enjoy, if there’s any training you want kept up (I don’t mind dogs on my couch but won’t do it if you want consistency), etc.

A typical day

I live near McGolrick and McCarren parks, so would take your pup for walks around the park (but prefer to stay out of the dog parks). I also have a small outdoor space if your pup wanted to sun themselves (season dependent).
