Amos gets dogs, and dogs get Amos! He loves being around dogs, getting to know them and what makes them happy. He is great with dogs of all sizes. Last time, he took care of a 130lb rottweiler, and a lab puppy for me. He took the time to take each on an individualized walk! Amos exceeded all expectations! Your dogs will love him.

Amos has been dedicated to animal service since he started volunteering at the local animal shelter at age 12. Through subsequent volunteering and employment his knowledge and love for animals has continued to grow throughout his life. He is always the first person I call to look after my Reginald because he is so responsible and loving, which is very obvious in how much my Reginald adores him, each new furry acquaintance is just a ...

Happy To Help, Ready to Run!

The love of animals is in my blood. At the young age of 12, I began volunteering my Saturdays to the local Humane Society. There, I learned to interact with, and care for, all kinds of animals, including cats, rabbits, birds, rodents, and aquarium and terrarium critters. I even had the chance to appreciate the sedate grace of a well-fed Ball Python; during the year I lived in Kenya, I became an avid bird watcher ...

What Amos would like to know about your dog

Becoming friends with an animal begins with a solid first impression. I will schedule a meet and greet with you and your dog in a place where your dog is extra comfortable meeting new people. If your dog is territorial, I’ll suggest meeting in a neutral place, such as on the sidewalk outside your home. During the meet and greet, I will want to review your dog’s profile and any special instructions that you provided to me ahead of time, identify a list of activities that are an enjoyable part of your pet’s daily routine, and ask you how your dog behaves with other dogs, people, and children.

I will want to know about your pet’s experience hiking and exploring the outdoors. I’ll ask you:
Is your dog up to date on their vaccines?
Have they had their flea and tick medication?
Has your dog ever seen a horse?
Is your dog comfortable being carried if necessary?

I will also want to know if there are any parks, trails, or ponds that your dog enjoys visiting that are near your house so I can get a sense of your neighborhood and plan our time accordingly. I will make sure to learn as much from you as possible to make your dog’s stay with me safe, happy, and stress-free.
