Pet care experience
The love of animals is in my blood. At the young age of 12, I began volunteering my Saturdays to the local Humane Society. There, I learned to interact with, and care for, all kinds of animals, including cats, rabbits, birds, rodents, and aquarium and terrarium critters. I even had the chance to appreciate the sedate grace of a well-fed Ball Python; during the year I lived in Kenya, I became an avid bird watcher. It’s safe to say that I enjoy working with animals of all shapes and sizes; I do, however, have an extra-special place in my heart for large and giant breeds of dogs that may come across to others as intimidating. I’ve fostered several dogs, and eventually adopted a rottweiler named Tatanka who was the love of my life, and the gentlest lap dog you’ve ever met. After sharing my life with him, I went on to spend nearly 10 years working at various animal hospitals and shelters. For now, I share my time with my sweet kitty, and am relocating to the very dog-friendly city of Seattle so that I can eventually enjoy the long-term companionship of a dog again. I would love to have the opportunity to care for your entire household of pets, regardless of fur, scales, or feathers. What I love most about dogs is that they live in the moment with a joyful attitude that is infectious. I’ve learned to be attentive to a dog’s need for exercise and affection, and am eager to shower your dog with loving companionship while you’re away. Every time I interact with dogs, I learn a little bit more about how to be happy and grateful for each moment, that’s why I’m eager to help you take care of your dog while you’re away. I’m excited to be a RoverGO sitter because it gives me the opportunity to create meaningful interactions with pets, under a respected and established organization dedicated to the cause of providing safe care and excellent service. I look forward to caring for your pet in a way that gives me back a sense of accomplishment and pride in a job well done.
Reviews
Amod was very thoughtful with our 2 dogs and very reliable. We were very happy with his care
Amos was very responsive to us when we connected over Rover and can over to visit for a Meet and Greet. He got on well with our two dogs and kept in good communication while we were away. We definitely look forward to having Amos care for Deacon and Keely again!
Amos stayed three nights with my dog this past week. He was awesome! He's super communicative, kind, conscientious, skillful and also took care of my wild bird feeding stations. He even offered to pick me up at the airport- which was way beyond the call of duty but hugely appreciated after being up most of the night before. He clearly loves animals. I totally trusted his care of both my house and best-beloved.
Amos took excellent care of Lily and the house. We would recommend him without qualification.

Information Amos W. would like to know about your pet
Becoming friends with an animal begins with a solid first impression. I will schedule a meet and greet with you and your dog in a place where your dog is extra comfortable meeting new people. If your dog is territorial, I’ll suggest meeting in a neutral place, such as on the sidewalk outside your home. During the meet and greet, I will want to review your dog’s profile and any special instructions that you provided to me ahead of time, identify a list of activities that are an enjoyable part of your pet’s daily routine, and ask you how your dog behaves with other dogs, people, and children. I will want to know about your pet’s experience hiking and exploring the outdoors. I’ll ask you: Is your dog up to date on their vaccines? Have they had their flea and tick medication? Has your dog ever seen a horse? Is your dog comfortable being carried if necessary? I will also want to know if there are any parks, trails, or ponds that your dog enjoys visiting that are near your house so I can get a sense of your neighborhood and plan our time accordingly. I will make sure to learn as much from you as possible to make your dog’s stay with me safe, happy, and stress-free.
A typical day
During your dog’s stay, I will pack our time together full of some of my favorite activities such as, long walks, a romp in the park, games of fetch, chase, tug of war, and anything else your dog is up for! If your dog is accustomed to more challenging outdoor adventures, and has a harness with a seatbelt attachment, I’ll enjoy taking them in my car to explore more remote places. One of my favorite activities is hiking in the woods. My wide-brimmed hat and boots are almost a trademark of mine, making me ready for any impromptu outdoor adventure under the forest canopy or up on the side of a mountain. If your dog is up for it, I’ll be thrilled to take them along with me. I have an open schedule that allows me to make a few visits to your home every day, or take care of your dog in your home for extended periods of time, meaning that I will be able to give your dog close, attentive care and consideration, and pack our days full of fun activities. Throughout the stay, I will be extra attentive to your dog’s needs, paying attention to empty food and water bowls, lost toys, clean spaces, and medical indications. It feels so good to take special care of our four-legged friends.
