Pet care experience
Hi there! I currently work at a specialty and emergency veterinary clinic and am in the process of applying for veterinary school. I previously have 10 years of experience working in dog rescue and at a grooming shop, caring for all kinds of animals, including those with medical and behavioral challenges. I am willing and able to care for pets other than dogs, including cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, and chickens. I am comfortable with special needs animals, and can administer medication, care for a senior pet, or help get all of your young dog's energy out. I am particularly familiar with high-energy herding breed dogs, but have experience with many different types of animals. I love to get outside and camp and hike with my two Australian cattle dogs, Fable and Cypress, and my border collie, Rowan. I am experienced with dog training and actively compete and train in dog sports such as flyball, agility, and dock diving. I love all animals and will treat your pet like my own!

My favorite doggy sitter in Bend!
Amira is amazing! My sweet and skeptical pup Indigo was instantly at home and her nerves about being with a total stranger were consoled by Amira and her friendly pups! Indigo had a wonderful time and even let Amira trim her nails. I am so grateful for Amira's wonderful care and will certainly look to their help again when in need!
Amira is very trustworthy and dedicated. A true animal lover. I would totally recommend her as a great pet sitter!

I have a fully fenced backyard but always supervise the dogs when they are outside. I love taking dogs in my care on hikes and nature walks with my own pups, but I always keep dogs that are new to me on a long line to give them freedom and the ability to run around while ensuring that they can't run off. While dogs in my care are never left alone for more than a few hours at a time, I do require that any dog I board here be crate trained so that if I have to leave them alone I know that they are safe and happy.

I like to know if your dog has any behavioral or medical concerns. I would like to know if they are crate trained, as well as any commands you use with them. I like to stay consistent with the training that you do with your pup, so just let me know the general rules and boundaries you give to your dog and I will enforce them while they are here!
A typical day
When dogs board at my house with me, they get lots of love and attention, as well as supervised access to my fully fenced in backyard. What activities we do while they're here really depends on the dog, but I like to take the dogs that I'm watching hiking and on lots of walks, as well as play with them in the backyard. If they like other dogs they're allowed to play with my pups, but if they're not into that I can also keep them separate from other dogs. They're also allowed to come and snuggle on the couch if that is ok with their people. There is no shortage of love and attention here!

I like to integrate my boarding dogs right into my routine with my own animals. That means they get playtime in the backyard and at least one walk on nearby trails every day, followed up by hanging out in the house once they've had their exercise. My work schedule means that dogs in my care get left alone for only a couple hours on days that I work. I require dogs that I board to be crate trained so that I know that they are safe and happy if I need to leave them alone at all.
