Pet care experience
I am a proud Galgo (Spanish Greyhound) mom, clinical paediatric social worker, lover of all animals, and volunteer for a local dog rescue. I work from home on certain days and am looking for furry company. I am a very active person - a runner and avid dog park visitor! Looking to help out in the community in order for dog owners to have a worry-free time away from their dog(s) and for me to get my extra dog fix! I have experience walking/caring for small to extra-large dogs, from puppies to older dogs. I’m bilingual, and have a pet-safe home and car. I’m very flexible and happy to arrange meet and greets, as well as pick-ups and drop-offs at a small fee based on your availability and preferences. My favourite dogs are greyhounds and Great Danes. I am knowledgeable and have experience with rescue animals. I can often be spotted with my galgo, Harry, in most Ottawa dog parks and pet-friendly coffee shops. I was so nervous about leaving Appa behind, since she had never been away from me before. Amélie was great! She provided regular updates, was very calm and patient with Appa, and eventually got her to overcome her separation anxiety. We will definitely be bringing Appa back for future visits. Very positive experience! Appa had a great time playing with her dog Harry :)
Our pup Abby loves her visits at Amelie and her partner’s. She especially loves their pup. She is kept busy the entire times she’s there and never seems that excited about leaving. Abby has never stayed away from us and can be kind of clingy but she was immediately comfortable with Amelie (eating and using the bathroom etc). She comes home exhausted and we get photo/video evidence of her running around and playing. I would certainly recommend Amelie if you’re looking for a sitter you can trust with your pets safety all while knowing your pet is having a ball!
Amélie took great care of our dog, Maggie. We really appreciated the regular photo updates, as this was our first night away from her. She came home happy and content. Will definitely use Amélie for future boarding needs. Thank you ?
This was the first time leaving my 9 month old pup with a dog sitter. Amélie took amazing care of her and always kept me updated with pictures and videos of all the fun age was having. She came home a tired and happy dog. Would happily recommend Amélie to anyone.

I am located in the Hintonburg area and love walking down by the Ottawa River or taking the dogs on nice walking paths nearby in Rockcliffe.

Although I work full time, I am home on certain days during those working hours and able to be flexible to tend to the dogs. I only make myself available on days that I truly have time to dedicate and prioritize caring for your furry friend(s).
