Experienced And Then Some
Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm with cats, dogs, sheep, rabbits, cows, goats…. (lots of animals I won’t see on here I assume), worked in a vet clinic in 2002 (experience with administering medication), and received certification in Dog Emotion and Cognition from a course at Duke University in 2016. I currently have an energetic and goofy 2 year old lab mix who keeps me on my toes.

Amelia took great care of our pup and took the most gorgeous pictures of her! Thanks, Amelia!
Amelia has watched my two cats quite a few times, and every time has been consistently met with ease. They are both comfortable with her, she's communicative and manages both my and my pets needs with strong attention. In fact, one time last year during a hot Austin summer, Amelia had called me to tell me that the air conditioning went out, hardly a worry for her but she was aptly concerned for the cats, right fully so. Amelia managed to reach out to me, arrive at my house on the fly with an air conditioning repairman, and saved the day. She did not sign up for this, but did this out of the car for my pets, and for that I'm extremely grateful. Once I got home she was there, and I noticed an extremely interesting fix she had concocted; the had used a series of fans in my house to assemble them pointing at each other so that they would slightly cool down every single room, leaving my cats with a bit of comfort. A very MacGyver television show move, pushing a single point failure into a temporarily fixed situation. Have you every seen Amelia and Richard Dean Anderson in the same room, at the same point? Yeah, me either. I think the only way I could be more impressed if that Amelia was indeed Quantum Leap's Scott Bakula, traversing though time for the triumph of Good, yet only to reappear as an air conditioning repairman that solves before the probably ever happened. Is Amelia a super human being capable time travel? Maybe not. But can she reliably visit and care for my two cats in the future? I don't recommend anyone else.
I have trusted Amelia with my pup on several occasions whether for a quick drop-in or a weekend stay. She has a kind and patient nature with my dog that I greatly appreciate.

Safety, trust & environment
In my home: with my work from home schedule I am with the pups throughout the day. They would have free range of the first floor (stairs are blocked for safety) and whatever spot on the couch they want or one of the multiple dog beds. In Your Home: For drop-in playdates and walks it would depend on each animal, your preference for play and treats, your area, etc. Basically you tell me what your dog loves and I’ll do that!

Medications, any triggers (other animals, loud noises, bicyclists, children, etc), health issues or aches and pains/sore spots, special diets or food and treat restrictions - really anything you would like me to know, I am happy to hear about. There is no such thing as TMI with a pet
A typical day
On the weekend I love to grab a coffee and go for a walk, read outside or on the screened in porch when it’s nice out or cuddle up on the couch when it’s colder.

Availability
I work from home 8-5 Monday through Friday and have an open schedule on weekends. For dogsitting with me at my home after a meet-and-greet with our pups, I would be with your dog for the entire day here with potty breaks throughout the day and a walk at lunch. For dog walking or check ins at your home, I’m available after 5:30 and throughout the weekend. For cat drop-ins (or any other pets you may have) I’m available weekday mornings before 8am and then again after 5:30 or anytime on weekends (multiple times a day).
