Pet care experience
I grew up around small breed dogs, and know "little dog" personality quirks, but I love big dogs too! In addition to walks, my visits with your pup will include however much petting and playtime they desire. I am available for walks, visits, and house sitting all week, including 9-5 M-F. I drive a large car (Honda CR-V), and would be happy to drive your pup to nearby parks for walks if you'd like. I also have an enclosed back yard that your pup is welcome to visit if they need to run alone off-leash to get their zoomies out. If your dog would like a playmate, my dog, Stella (2 y/o, female, 30 lbs) would love to run around with them. I have experience with cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, fish, birds (even chickens!) and am happy to care for additional pets. I love gardening, and can water and care for plants during house sitting or drop in visits. I can't wait to get to know your pets!

Amelia treats each pet as if it was her own. I had two when she pet sit for me in 2016: Alice, a shy cat, and Cross, a rambunctious dog-- she acclimates to their needs and ensures they get ample attention and love! She is professional and reliable, but also very sweet and completely trustworthy. You cannot go wrong with Amelia!

I always schedule a time to meet with you and your pets in the space where I'll be pet sitting them to make sure that your pet feels comfortable with me and to make sure that I have an understanding of how to make your pet feel comfortable in their home. I keep a close eye on our crazy Texas weather to make sure that your pet will have what they need in the case of a heat wave or freeze. While I encourage my own pets to explore their own surroundings, I always step in if they get too interested in eating a plant or bug that could be toxic to them.

-Allergies -How you encourage your pet to eat if they aren't interested in their food right away (ex. feeding them at a different time, adding wet food, broth, peanut butter, or seasoning to their food) -What spaces in your home your pet is and is not allowed to use -How your pet feels about other animals (ex. should I cross the street while taking your pet on a walk, or does your pet enjoy playtime with another animal?) -Your pets' schedules (ex. they take an afternoon nap in their crate; they need to go out for a bathroom break by 7 AM)
A typical day
I'll use your pets' favorite toys and activities to keep them engaged. For example, my own dog, Stella, loves to shred cardboard, so I often make "puzzles" for her to "solve" using old boxes and paper towel rolls. My cat, Luna, loves to jump and mimic hunting, so I use string toys to help her keep her hunting and jumping skills sharp! I live near White Rock Lake, where I love to take my own dog on walks, so I have an understanding of dog-safe spaces around the lake if your dog would like to go on a walk there.
