I wear dog hair like glitter!

Pet care experience

I have taken care of pets since I was 4. My family has always had pets since before I was born. I have had 3 cats, numerous dogs, fish, goats, chickens, and a horse. I currently have one dog and a horse now and my husband and I are looking to add another dog to our new family.

Amelia is fantastic! We have used her over the past year as our in home pet sitter. She loves what she does and pops in more than I actually need her to. Amelia loves the outdoors so she often takes our lazy pups out for multiple walks and playtime in the yard to liven them up yet tucker them out. She’s very accommodating for our sporadic trip planning and always there when we need her!

I’ve been friends with Amelia for a little over 2 years now & throughout that time, she has watched our dogs multiple times—for the day, over night, weekends, & full weeks. Our dogs are a handful—2 three years old pitties, so they’re full of energy! Amelia handles them with ease, loving on them when they want snuggles & playing with them. She feeds them according to our schedule & makes sure they go potty whenever needed. One has needed his allergy meds & Amelia has had no issue getting him to take them. She has also cleaned up any accidents inside without any hesitation. While at the house, she makes sure to clean up behind herself & any toys the dogs leave our. Both dogs love her & always get excited when we say her name. Let Amelia watch your fur babies & you won’t regret it! The dogs love her & so will you!

We have a fenced in yard with just one pet. I have a 6 year old Beagle mix. She has a crate but it can be used for other dogs or unusual situations that require crating. My dog is fed only once a day because she is on a healthy weight diet. Feeding varies between pets and their personal needs of course. For in-home visits, I feed according to owner instruction, let them outside for potty breaks in the morning and throughout the day if needed. Some pets require playtime or walks which is always fun! Pets may require bathing which I prefer to do indoors, if there is sufficient space. I also enjoy brushing pets when needed. I have proven to be able to administer medication, anything from pills to eye drops and remain on schedule. It is very important stay on a schedule with pets so no bad signs or any abnormalities go unnoticed.

Information Amelia R. would like to know about your pet

It is important to know a dog's behavior ahead of time. I will not put myself in a position of danger due to an owner's negligence. If I feel your pet is aggressive towards me or could potentially cause me bodily harm, I will not continue to watch your pet. It is also important to know your dog's schedule and who the dog can or cannot interact with.

A typical day

A typical day would include feeding upon the dog's determined schedule. After feeding, the dog will go outside for a potty break and perhaps spend a few minutes enjoying the outdoors before heading back inside to rest with a fully tummy. After the dog has relaxed to digest food, we can go on a walk, have play time, or both. I prefer to walk around the neighborhood or go to a park that is within walking distance of the owner's home.
