Amelia has cared for my dogs on multiple occasions. She is kind, professional, and clearly enthusiastic about dogs--she seems to bring them as much joy as they bring here. However, I think the anecdote below better reveals her aptitude than me continuing to babble ever will. I have two dogs, both mutts, both rescues. The elder dog Zeus is your textbook great dog; he is cute, lively but not overly energetic, obedient, and loves people. My other dog Roxy can be a little bit more difficult. Unfortunately, we suspect that she may have been abused or neglected prior to coming into our home. While she opens up and is quite a companion to those who repeatedly show her affection and learn how to approach her as to not startle her, etc., she is characteristically skittish and untrusting of strangers. She hardly sits still long enough to pet her. I live in a five person house, and Roxy is only truly comfortable around three of us despite the years we have all spent together. Within a few minutes of Amelia meeting my dogs, I look over to see Roxy perched on her lab, eager eyes looking up at Amelia as she pets her. Roxy's tail was wagging (a rare sight), and I kid you not, she looked at me with her smashed bull dog/pit bull-esque face, and through crooked teeth she smiled from ear to ear.
