I currently am in an apartment with my boyfriend and 8lb Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix named Birdie, who’s almost 3. Our unit is 2 bed, 2 bath, with a very open living/kitchen area, so plenty of room to stretch out and for a crate. My Chi-X is generally very laid back and quiet. She can be very shy and apprehensive at first with new people and other animals in her personal space but she’s always been great around cats and dogs. She’s also very barky and loud at first, but quickly calms down once she realizes there’s no threat. She usually will look to me for the reassurance that it’s ok. She’s the absolute world to me. I adopted her and she’s gone with me everywhere I’m able to take her since day one. I also was fortunate enough to take her to work with me every single day, so she’s desensitized to everything. We used to frequent the dog park every single day, but since COVID-19 turning everything upside down, and it being so hot, none of her friends have been going. But we try to hit other local parks as much as possible for our exercise and exploration, and our apartment building is butted up against a small park we walk around if for some reason we’re not able to go anywhere else. I can assure you, your fur baby will be treated no differently than mine!
