Pet care experience
Between the two of us, we have cared for a wide range of pets! Currently we have a German Shepherd puppy as well as a guinea pig. We would love to love on your baby while you are not available. Richard (goes by Pike) is retired and Amber is self employed. We have two grown children and we have two additional sons at home - a 15 yr old and a 10 yr old. Boarders only: While there may be times where we would need to be away from our boarders, we are never away for more than 4 hours at a time. We try our best to devote as much of our time as possible with our guests. Please let us know if you prefer 24 hour care as this can be guaranteed for an additional fee. Day Care Only: Our day care guest are never left alone or unsupervised. We have a fenced yard to accommodate all sizes of fur babies. We can handle multiple dogs at one time. However, we feel it’s in everyone’s best interest to only allow for one family at a time. With us having a puppy in the house we do ask that your babies are up to date on their shots. We have lots of balls and pet toys or you can send your pets favorite items with them. Your pets will be fed and exercised according to your instructions. We also have no problems administering medication or supplements. We require that your pet is crate trained. This is for everyone’s safety. Please provide a crate for your pet unless we agree to an alternative arrangement. We have quiet hours in our home between 10:00pm-6:00am. For boarders we ask that you provide a two hour window for drop off and pick up between the hours of 8:00am-8:00pm. *Times outside of this window may be available for an additional fee. For day care we ask that all pups are dropped off after 8:00am and picked up by 6:00pm. *Times outside of this window may be available for an additional fee. We care for our fur guests as if they are our own. We do work on good manners. With owners permission we do allow pets on our furniture. (Please let us know if you explicitly forbid your pet from being on furniture.) We feed each pet separately for everyone’s safety. All pets should sleep in a crate that you provide unless we all agree to other arrangements. Please arrive with your pet on a leash. We will have our pup crated or on a leash as well until we can properly introduce everyone.

Amber & Pike did a fantastic job of caring for Trudi and Tango during my most recent travel. I was gone for over a week and I don't think the "pups" even missed me! I think Tango really enjoys having time to play with their puppy, Lila. Trudi is older, so she doesn't play as much, but she still loves the attention that being "home" at with Amber and her family. I'm very happy with their care and grateful that my dogs didn't have to spend hours a day locked in a kennel somewhere. I will certainly ask Amber and Pike to care for my dogs again.

Amber & Richard provided great care for Trudi and Tango. There was absolutely no indication that either one of the dogs was stressed at all when they got home. Tango is a big dog and can be enthusiastic sometimes. They took him in stride and he had a great time. Trudi and Tango both enjoyed the big yard and Tango especially loved the opportunity to play with the German Shepherd puppy, Lila. I am looking forward to the opportunity to have Amber and Richard petsit my "pups" again soon.

Does your pet have any aggression to other animals or to humans? We will not automatically refuse a pet with aggressions as long as we are able to address this ahead of time and have a plan in place to keep everyone safe. Does your pet like children? What are your pets specific feeding instructions? Does your pet take medication or supplements? What are the instructions to administer the medication? Does your pet have any behaviors we should be aware of such as: an escape artist, likes to chew shoes, counter surfs, marks in the house, toy or food possessiveness, etc? How do you address and handle above behaviors? Is your pet allowed on furniture? Do you have any special rules that we should follow? The more specific you are the better we can care for your furbaby.
A typical day
Unless we are given specific instructions otherwise: For Boarders: We typically wake up around 6:00am to potty. Some pets prefer to eat at this time but most typically won’t eat until around 8-9:00am. By 9:00 everyone has usually eaten and we will have another potty break. Depending on the pet, some prefer to stay outside in the yard and others prefer to be indoors. We just follow their lead as well as the weather. Everyone usually likes to have dinner around 6:00. Again, all pets are fed separately. We start winding down around 8:00pm. Everyone is usually inside by this time. 10:00pm everyone goes out to potty and then into crates for the night.

Availability
We are typically home every day. There may be times where we have to leave for a couple of hours for errands or appointments. Depending on the length of your pets stay. We try to spend as much time with your pet as we can.
