Animals are genuine.

Pet care experience

I grew up with pets, I love them. In high school I cat sat for a family while they were on holiday, the cat had diabetes and needed insulin shots. I have experience with needles so they trusted me to care for their cats medical needs. In the past I have lived with, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and bearded dragons. Pets are awesome.

Amber was super kind and took good care of my kitty. She made sure to see if I wanted photos (as some cats are shy and hide when the sitter comes). And she was available on short notice. I really appreciated it, Amber! I would definitely recommend.

Amber took care of our French bulldog Arlo for the weekend and was amazing! She spent so much time with Arlo and was great at helping him around. We would love to have Amber watch Arlo again in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

I believe in respecting an animal and their boundaries. Never force them to be social with you if they aren't comfortable, move at their pace. I am a vibe person, if the dog or cat is giving me signs that they are uncomfortable I give them their space. Try to get them to warm up to me by being non threatening. Let them smell me, maybe sit on the floor at their level. Sometimes hand feeding them helps. Dogs who are used to dog walkers, are generally well socialized so they don't usually struggle with adjusting to a new walker.

Information Amber P. would like to know about your pet

I need to know if they are afraid of anything, or are opposed to casual touch. If they have been attacked by other dogs before and I need to keep my distance. That sort of thing.

A typical day

I will walk your dog in their own area, if there's a regular park close by I will walk them there. I like to incorporate some traditional dog training practices during the walk. I am a big advocate for this being a dogs version of social time. They get to decide where we go (for the most part) and what they want to do.

I recently started a new job. I work M-F 8am-5pm. If I don’t respond during those hours you know why! I still take weekend dog or cat sitting gigs, I can’t have my own so I love on others. :)
