Pet care experience
I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had the responsibility of helping to take care of them. 6 years ago I got my own pup and have put blood sweat and tears into giving him the best life possible. From long walks, frequent feeding (special diets), bathing/grooming, fun activities, and lots of love, I’ve done it all. I’m not scared of any breed and no dog is too big or too small. I love them all and will give them the same attention, love, and care I would give my own.

She was so sweet and helpful with the pups! It was their first time with a sitter, so my dogs were really nervous but she did such a great job getting comfortable with her. I’d recommend Amber!

Understanding a dogs like and dislikes are very important. For instance, my dog has a fear of big boxes and plastic bags so I keeps those things away from him at all times. Dog should be as comfortable as you are in your home. Noises, temperature, weather, etc, can all affect a dogs mood and behavior. Trying to eliminate the stress some of these factors can cause is highly important. Additionally, keeping dangerous substance either completely out of the home or at the very least, out of reach.

A typical day
I love a routine, which may be different for each pet! For my dog, we get up early in the morning and make breakfast! After that we go for a walk and check out and local dog parks. Then we come back to the house and relax before our next walk or the day. During this walk we might stop at a dog friendly restaurant or dessert shop and get something to eat! Then back to the house to relax and I make his dinner. Finally we go out for another walk and explore something new each day.

I am new to Portland and for the month of July, I don’t have a steady job. I would like to fill up my schedule as much as possible for this month and then various availability in the future. Likely afternoons, early mornings, and weekends will be available after July.
