Dog Trainer's Daughter-Here for You
Pet care experience
I am a former English/English Language Development teacher in the Sacramento area, and I now work remotely as a Customer Success Manager. I love working with animals, and really enjoy working for Rover because I get to meet all kinds of beautiful pups (and sometimes other pets as well). I grew up the daughter of a dog-trainer. My mom had her own business, Complete Dog Training, where she taught obedience, as well as training service dogs for people with autism. I grew up taking care of dogs, trained 2 Guide Dogs for the Blind on my own, and have 15 years of dogsitting experience as well. Furthermore, I am familiar with caring for other pets as well if you have additional animals, such as cats, horses, birds, snakes, goats, sheep, cows, etc. Before sitting for dogs, I like to meet the owner and dogs ahead of time. This allows me to build a rapport with the animal while the parents are home, and then the dogs are more friendly and comfortable during the stay, as we know that the parents being gone can be stressful. Since I work from home/remotely, I have plenty of time for relaxing, long walks in the morning and evening, and plenty of cuddles. If boarding at our apt: I have two extra metal crates but prefer owners provide their own so the pet is more comfortable and familiar.
Reviews
So lucky to have found Amber on Rover! She is an excellent communicator (love the pup pics throughout the day) and very responsive to our pup's needs.
We left our dog with Amber for a long weekend. She was very flexible, accommodating, and kind. Trusting someone to care for a pet can be very stressful, but Amber made the process super easy! Our boy was so relaxed when we picked him up- I wouldn’t leave him with anyone else!
Amber took great care of our two dogs during their stay with her. She sent lots of photos and updates, and coordinating everything with her was a breeze. Thanks, Amber!
Fredo had a great time with Amber. She was responsive, attentive, sent pictures and updates. Our dog looked very happy in Amber's care!

Inside the apartment, we have dog toys and a designated feeding/water station. I live in a wonderful neighborhood with grass and close access to Stanford Park for romping and potty breaks. Everything in Midtown is shaded, which is perfect for keeping pups safe on hot days. In the event it’s too hot for walks outside, our long hallway acts as a running lane for play time.

Information Amber K. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know the dog's habits, expectations for food, walks, potty breaks, as well as any quirks or habits I need to keep an eye out for.
A typical day
If boarding at our apartment, we will go for walks all around our neighborhood. We live almost right across from Leland Stanford Park and are really close to the river at Sutter's Landing Park. There's a dog park there (if owners are comfortable with their fur babies going there), and there are beautiful trails along the American River Parkway. I love getting out for walks as a break from working from home.

Pet care is part of my daily routine, as I have my miniature dachshund, Exploradora. After morning cuddles, it’s breakfast time, then we’re off for a nice long cool morning walk before the summer heat. After our return, it’s nap time for the pup while I log-in and work remotely. If it’s cool enough, lunch break means another stroll around the neighborhood, with another short potty walk later after dinner time, topped by a nice evening walk once it has cooled down/before bedtime. To ensure a pets routine is followed, I read the pet parent’s instructions closely. I know how important routine and proper feeding can be and have been on the unfortunate side of having a sitter not read the instructions properly, resulting in his over feeding of our fur baby.
