Retired Vet Tech needs her pet fix!

Pet care experience

I recently started law school and so I have retired from the veterinary field. This means I have more time and availability in my life for playing with healthy pets but less of an animal community in my new city to get my animal fix! Everything is flexible on my profile, and everything is considered case to case basis. Have 3 dogs? No problem as long as they are sweet to mine and I have advance warning so I can block my calendar for you. Have two super young puppies that need to go out every 2 hours in the middle of the night? No problem, I just need to know so they have the best night away from you that I can provide. Basically, don't let these hard lines that the profile makes me set deter you from checking in with me to see if I might be a good fit to take care of your kiddo while you're away. It never hurts to ask. Why I love dog sitting I had dogs growing up but was not able to have my own until about a year ago. That's when my kiddo, Beatrice, came into the surgery clinic where I worked and needed emergency surgery that her owners could not afford. She seemed so sweet and loving that I offered to adopt her and have the surgery she needed. She has been an amazing companion since. A similar situation happened with Sullivan when he was abandoned by his owner at my previous work. I took him home for the weekend while the hospital was repainted and we fell in love. About my yard I have a small, fenced backyard that's mostly banana tree. My experience administering medication It's what I did for a living for over a decade, so keeping a medical schedule and making pill time slightly enjoyable is something I feel very confident in.

Amber was very laid-back and flexible about pick-up/drop-off, and with her being a vet tech, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in her care.

Amber is awesome! I am so overprotective of my Andy and when I came across Amber's profile and learned she was a vet tech, I was sold! We met up for a meet and greet of our dogs, my Andy loved them and started playing with them instantly! Amber took the time to listen to Andy's needs and my requests, she was very personable and kind. While we were away she sent photos of my boy, informed me that he was getting lots of love and attention and also that they often went to the family's lake house so I knew my boy was being spoiled! When we picked him up he was very happy! My Andy wears his emotions on his sleeve so I could really tell when we picked him up that he had a great time with Amber and her dogs. It also adds peace of mind that she is a vet tech so I know my boy would be taken care of by a professional if anything were to happen. We will defiantly be using Amber's services again!

Information Amber F. would like to know about your pet

As long as the dog is good with little dogs and slightly good with cats, they are welcome in my home. I have cats that have extraordinary hiding skills, so if the dog is super curious about cats, they will likely just hide till the coast is clear (aka, the dog is asleep).

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I firmly believe that dog walks are for the dog. So unless it's a business walk only, I let them decide left or right, how far, and when they think they're starting to be done. That doesn't mean I don't believe in manners, and leash training is very important. But I get to walk around my neighborhood (or yours) anytime I want. So I shouldn't get to dictate everything about their outdoor excursion. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever they feel comfortable. If they're a cuddler, they are welcome on the bed. If they like their space, they are welcome on the couch, the floor, or the dog bed(s) available in every room. Time I'll spend with your dog I am a bit of a home body, so if I'm not in classes I'll be hanging out with your pet. This includes Fridays off and full weekends.
