For several years I've cared for both dogs and cats either in my own home or by caring for friends and other people's pets. Within the last couple of years I've gradually gone to occasional pet sitting to now what would be considered part-time pet sitting. When it comes to canines I can usually handle any size, even during walks. It mainly depends on the dog's personality and whether they're mostly calm or will chase and bark at anything in sight. I also have experience with cleaning after pets, including cleaning out litter boxes. For house-sitting (over night) visits I can either come at least two times or more to check on your pet, usually during evening and then morning next day. The second option is me staying at the home over night and doing one trip while checking pet as often as needed. It really depends on what you are comfortable with and whether there is a place for me to sleep at the house over night. Leaving detailed instructions and info about pets ensures I am able to do everything I can to care for them and ensure they're able to have fun and relax while you're away. This includes making sure your home is safe and that no alarms accidentally go off. During walks, drop-ins and over night stays I make sure that everyone is safe, clean, healthy and having fun. I am also comfortable with other types of pets such as reptiles, birds, mice, or guinea pigs, but do not have experience caring for them so instructions to care for them are very much appreciated. I have taken a first aid and CPR training before and used to have a certification in first aid before it expired. Within the year I plan on getting that same certification and will give an update as soon as I get it.
