Hi, I’m Amanda! I took a break from Rover and spent the past 2 years in Chicago fostering at risk pitbulls and helping them find their forever homes. I just moved to NYC and my building won’t let me foster, but I love helping people care for their dogs so re-activated my profile. I try to create a space that’s safe, calming, and full of love. I have 10+ years of experience in pet sitting and dog walking. I am extremely responsible and can attend to all of your pet’s needs. My experience has been with both family dogs and foster dogs, so I’ve cared for dogs from a variety of backgrounds. I know dogs can have a variety of trauma and quirks, so can work to meet them where they’re at.

Since I’d either come to your home for a drop in visit or walk your dog, I can adjust to the safe environment your pet has at home. Whether that’s using a crate, having boundaries while eating, being bell trained, playing with certain toys, etc, I will make sure to meet your dogs needs and make sure they feel comfortable and safe.

A typical day
We can go for walks around the neighborhood and parks. I’m a very active person so as long as your dog enjoys more frequent or longer walks, we can definitely spend a lot of time outside. I love to play with dogs and play games like fetch and tag. After a day of running around, I also love to snuggle with dogs and give them lots of scratches. If there are specific activities your dog really likes, I am open to however they enjoy their quality time!

Availability
I typically go into the office one day a week, and work a 9-5 from home the rest of the week. This means I can build regular breaks into my work schedule to walk your dog and spend quality time. Outside of work I love being active, so can take your dog to the park or go for long walks.
