Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs from the time I was just a little girl. Part of my chores were taking care of the dog by feeding him, walking him and playing with him. This taught me responsibility at a young age. When I got older and moved out on my own, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get used to not having a pet around. I got a cat and later a puppy AND THEN….another puppy :) (who can stop at just one?) Fortunately, I had gone through the crate training process with my own families dogs so when I got my puppy, crate training was a breeze. My own pets require special diets and extra maintenance and I know how that can feel like a lot to ask when looking for someone to care for your pets. But it’s never too much to ask with me. A happy, well cared for pet = happy owners who have peace of mind when they are away.

Amanda is a responsible young professional who’s cared for my dogs and cats for a long time now. She’s friendly, reliable, and most of all - loving to my pets. One of my dogs has a medical condition and I can always rely on Amanda to give him his medication on time every time. She communicates to me if anything outstanding happens with one of my pets so I can take care of it. Overall Amanda is above all other pet sitters I’ve dealt with.

My pet are like my children. So much of my time and energy goes into taking care of them, exercising them and making sure they are healthy and safe and I would do the same for any other pet I cared for. I have a fenced in yard that my dog enjoys running around daily and I also take him to the field and on long walks to get extra exercise each day. I am comfortable having pets in my yard and am also comfortable coming into your home to care for your pets. If you are anything like me, you may want pictures or videos to put your mind at ease while you are away from your pets and that’s fine with me! What’s another cute pet in your camera reel anyway :) When you are away, whether at work or on a trip, have no fear, your pet is safe, loved and well taken care of with me!

It is important for me to know what your dog needs to be safe, happy and healthy while you are gone. I’d like to know your dogs feeding schedule, feeding habits and any dietary restrictions. My cat and dog are both very picky and both eat hypoallergenic food so I understand the feeding process isn’t easy for all pets. Does your dog have any special needs while you are gone? How much exercise do they need? Are they potty trained/crate trained? Do they get along with other dogs? Can they walk on a leash?
A typical day
The highlight of my day is taking my dog on adventures. I take him everywhere. We go on long walks and hikes and even though I have a fenced in yard, I take my dog to the field at Ualbany frequently to run, play fetch and enjoy time with other dogs. I love anything outdoors with my dog and would happy to take your dog on outdoor adventures as well!

Availability
I am a teacher! I am free after 3:15 for walks/check ins during the week and am free on the weekends. I love spending time outside and take my own dogs on long walks after work
