Dachshund Daycare + Sausage Stays!

Pet care experience

We adore being around dachshunds and small doggos and always love the extra company in our home! As sausage parents ourselves we have a great understanding of this special breed and have lots of experience offering boarding and sitting to sausages we’ve met locally and beyond. So if you're looking for someone attentive to take great care of your best dachshund family member, look no further. At our place your gorgeous long-doggo can expect a wagging good time with plenty of green walks, time for rest, play, lots of petting and good canine conversation! My partner and I are both lovers of dachshunds in all shapes and sizes. So I started a Whatsapp meetup group (called Walthamstow Sausages) where we used to live, and It now has 151 dachshund members and counting! We often provide daycare and sleepover services to other sausage parents in the group. Now living in Enfield, we have a bigger home and more space in our nest to dog-sit and help out with walks. I am often working from home alongside my partner Aimee during weekdays. Our dog, Edie is a female 3-year-old, spayed, small 5kg mini daxie who loves to nap and play with her squeaky squirrels. So if your small doggo likes the company of other sausages, too we'd love to meet! We are both dependable and friendly, so please don't hesitate to message! We can't wait to meet you and your lovely long dog!

We needed someone to look after our dachshund at short notice, and I genuinely can't think of anyone I would rather have left him with than Amanda. Seeing the care and attention she gives Edie, her own little sausage, I knew he would be in very safe hands. Not only does she understand the intricacies of dachshund ownership, but her warm and welcoming energy makes her the most hospitable of hosts. If we're ever caught short and need someone to take care of our boy again, I know the first person I'll be reaching out to.

Amanda is the perfect dog sitter, my dog Olive has stayed over several times and I feel so comfortable knowing she is in safe hands! Olive is usually nervous around other people but absolutely loves her time at Amanda’s.

Amanda did a great job with our pup - she took on board all of our care instructions and we received lots of lovely updates throughout the day. We will be using her again for sure!

We live in a spacious terraced house, with a private, secure garden. In our home we have ramps on the sofa and bed, to stop those little legs jumping too much! Nearby are a few nice green spaces we go daily. When we are at home we make sure your sausage has a comfy snooze spot. As sausage dog owners we understand their very particular needs and quirks and will always do our utmost to ensure they are comfortable and happy during their time here. Expect photo updates!

Information Amanda W. would like to know about your pet

We understand that every dachshund has their unique quirks, so definitely get in touch with more information about your dogs likes and dislikes. We can then arrange a meet to ensure our sausages both get along just fine before committing to daycare or a stay! As you can probably tell, we love dachshunds but we also look after other small breeds who get along well with dachshunds. So please do still in touch if that's you! Males must be neutered and all dogs must be toilet trained to go outside. Because we also want to ensure the welfare and comfort of our our own dog we unfortunately cannot take on dogs with anxiety, obsessive or destructive behaviours.

A typical day

After toilet and breakfast it's always time for a play! Squeaky ball under the covers or some stimulating sniff-n-search games to keep the noses busy and tails wagging! Then we go for a nice walk - minimum 30 minutes but if the weather is lovely more like 45 minutes. Then back to ours for a dental chew, cuddles and a cosy den. Mid afternoon we will have a little play, some more cuddles and then dinner time!
