I have 7+ years experience caring for dogs as well as cats. I have spent several years volunteering and working for animal shelters and have fostered animals in my own home. Throughout this time, I have also been able to gain experience working with dogs that have varying temperaments and behavioral traits. It has given me the opportunity to learn best training techniques and how to be a more compassionate animal caregiver. In addition to my domestic animal caregiving experience, I have spent the last two years volunteering as a rescue handler for a wildlife rehabilitation rescue team. This included raptors, local mammal wildlife, and some reptiles. This experience has given me even more knowledge in animal handling and care and has made me even more confident in my ability to care for various types of animals. I am passionate about animal care work and continue my efforts as a volunteer because it brings me joy to spend time with my furry friends. Also, I have a 2 year old cattle dog mix and 3 year old domestic short hair cat at home. Their names are Thor and Loki (which is very fitting for their age and personalities). Thor, my dog is a clumsy goofball who loves to run around, trip on himself, and cuddle up with his favorite stuffed animal. Loki, my cat is the mischievous big brother who loves adventure and is currently working on leash training.
