Dog Trainer in Training
Pet care experience
Hi! my name is Amanda. I have grown up with animals my entire life! We currently have 5 dogs and 3 cats of our own! I am also working towards obtaining my certification as a dog trainer. I have cared for many types of dogs, including dogs with special needs. One of my own is epilieptic. I am able to fulfill high drive dogs and also able to cater to the couch potatos. I also have experience with behavior issue, such as reactivity to dogs and people, as well as resource guarding. I am looking forward to being able to help the pet owners in my community enrich and provide the best lives possible for their pets! Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Amanda is wonderful. Always takes pictures, great communicator, punctual, and caring. Our dogs love her! We will definitely be using her again!
Always a pleasure.
Amanda was excellent with our dog!!! She kept us updated with videos and pictures. Our baby got along with her dog and we was beyond excited as he has always been the only dog home!!! We will definitely use Amanda again. Thank you again!
Our Royal loves to visit

Safety, trust & environment
I aim to keep pets as close to their normal routine as possible. This include training schedule, house rules, etc. I am happy to uphold these to the best of my abilities. I also treat each dog as an individual, and cater care to each pet. This may look like giving a shy dog plenty of space instead of insisting they allow me to pet them, etc.

Information Amanda S. would like to know about your pet
I will typically inquire about the dogs preference / tolerance for other dogs to ensure I am prepared and able to accommodate. I usually try to stick to the home schedule too, so knowing feeding and exercise schedules is important also!
A typical day
We do daily walks, sometimes twice a day. We usually go to the Greenway in St. Elmo or the Guild trail, which is also close by. Occasionally we will make our way downtown to the walking bridge. We spend lots of home time outside. Our dogs are e-fence trained, but we use a 30ft leads for visiting dogs to ensure they can play safely as well.
