I grew up with family dogs when I was younger, and more recently as I've adopted my own dog, have become enthusiastic about dog behaviour and psychology. I’ve learned a lot of what I know from the rescue we adopted our dog, Captain, from and the ongoing training program they provide, as well as advice from a range of dog trainers and podcasts. Beyond my own dog, I jump at the opportunity to help my friends with their pets/dogs and love being able to take care of and interact with other pets! As a dog owner, I understand that keeping a regular schedule can be challenging - which is why I love the opportunity to help!

Amanda was amazing! Stayed with our dog and two cats for a week. They are all special needs and they were great with them and really understood their needs. I returned home to happy animals and a tidy house. Also lots of updates throughout the week and easy to follow on Instagram. Highly recommend!

I also love to work with and train in various ways, so if you're teaching your dog any new tricks, to hold place, remain calm before a walk, not to pull on walks, etc... I love to go on walks both in the neighborhood as well as to parks / hiking trails! I will run up to 5km with high-energy dogs as well!

Availability
I am currently a university student and part-time personal trainer. I train clients in-person in Guelph (in their homes) as well as virtually. The flexibility of travelling around Guelph for work allows me to easily fit dog visits and walks into my schedule. For in home stays during the week, I require some flexibility for the dog to be alone at home for a minimum of 3-4 hours due to class times. I can provide full-time care or drop in visits in chunks of up to 4 hours on weekdays (depending on the day/time) and for longer periods/overnight on weekends.
