I've been a dog-lover all my life, and I share my home with two dogs (and four backyard chickens who are in a fenced run). My dogs are the heartbeat of the house, and truly make this place a home. I've had various professional and personal experiences caring for dogs, most recently and commonly hosting a variety of friend's dogs here for long weekends or summer vacations. I have a fenced-in backyard and a small dog pond (good for wading on hot days!) and only work about three miles away, so have the flexibility to run home to check on everyone. In these COVID-19 pandemic times, I'm actually doing most of my work from home, and typically only go into work for a staggered shift for about two hours a day. Full disclosure: My older/larger dog, Zoe (38 lbs), is a bit socially awkward meeting new dogs that are larger than her -- she does best with laidback dogs who can brush off her social awkwardness. If that happens, she usually makes friends within a day - her "warm-up" period just takes a little time. No issues with smaller dogs -- I think she just gets intimidated by larger ones, which is why my profile is set-up the way it is. If you have a larger, really laidback dog who is not offended by others who are socially awkward -- feel free to request our services. I love dogs of all sizes, unfortunately Zoe just doesn't always agree! Meetups are always a good option for those bigger dogs, we certainly want you to feel comfortable with the situation! Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in the bedroom! No "off-limits" spots in the house. COVID-19 note: We're happy to meet up at a local park if you'd like to do a meet-and-greet, and for the actual drop-off/pick-up, we can safely plan on a backyard interaction.
