I grew up around animals, starting with our cocker spaniel, Penny, and my family's poodles and chihuahuas. After Penny passed on, my dad couldn't handle another loss like that, so my mom and I found other ways to love animals. We spent roughly 4 years aiding an animal foster care group who rescued cats and dogs from kill shelters. When dad was called away for the military, my mom and I would secretly foster some of those animals. We also took in a number of strays we found and got them in good health before finding them homes. My mom and I also spent about 2 years working with a bird rehabilitator and helping my teachers with their pets (snakes, tarantulas, prairie dogs, geckos, hermit crabs, fish, iguanas, hedgehogs, chinchillas, mice, rats, and hamsters). In college, I spent two years living with, loving on, and helping care for a dog with severe anxiety around other dogs and children. She suffered from severe allergies and food intolerances as well, so she was an absolute princess (but a wonderful snuggler). Currently living with an elderly timid cat and am making headway in earning her trust. I travel too much and don't have enough money to have a pet of my own, so I pour my love into others' animals where I can. If your dog has special needs or medications, I am willing to meet with you a couple times to go over your care of them and run through care administering with you around until you are comfortable.
