Works from home! Lots of attention.

Pet care experience

Hello, I am a high energy adult that can handle your high energy (or low) dog and their lifestyle needs. I work from home full time, so they will get tons of attention, walks, and games of fetch or tug. I have two friendly dogs, a 4 year old female german shorthaired pointer and a 3 year old male vizsla that would love extra company and others to play with. As long as the temps are above freezing, there is a small kiddie pool for playing in. I have a 4' chain link fenced yard to play in with many toys, balls, ropes, and plushies to enjoy. Or your dog can lounge around if that’s what he/she prefers. Your dog would leave here happy and tired. I dont normally leave the property with your dog unless its requested or booked, so when it comes to walks or runs, your dog can set the pace and I’ll keep up. I require all of our guests, including my personal dogs, to be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordatella vacinnes, as well as having an effective method of flea/tick prevention. I highly encourage all dogs to be on heartworm prevention. I also require puppies under 6 months of age to have all of their appropriate boosters according to their age and vet recommendations.

Amanda is awesome! She watched my pup for 6 days, while I was out of town for training. I told her in the beginning, he hasn't spent much time away from me, which she put me at ease with constant communication and updates with pics of my pup. I would definitely recommend Amanda for watching your dog, she's clearly an animal lover which helps. I am definitely using her again this summer when we go on vacation....

Safety, trust & environment

For dogs boarding, we have a 4ft tall chain link fence around the entire backyard. The side gate is secured with two locks, one is a combination lock. We "clean" the yard at a minimum 2x a day and make sure everything is safe and secure. For dog walks/visits, my number one priority is the safety of your pup. Dogs will be leashed prior to exiting the house and will make sure your pup is kept safe during the walk/run. I will be aware of your dogs condition and the weather conditions. In the event of an accident or emergency, I will need to able to lift and transport your dog to the local vet or hospital. Because of this, I am only accepting dogs that weigh up to 65 lbs. I am unable to watch dogs that are escape artists (chewing through fence, digging under fence, and climbing over the fence). There is zero tolerance for this behavior. Destruction of plushies, toys, balls, and ropes is expected. Tips recieved will go toward new toys for the dogs to play with. If you would like to donate a new or lightly used toy for our yard, please feel free to bring on your visit and just let me know it's for everyone or specifically for your dog.

Information Amanda N. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know his/her behavior towards animals and new people. If he/she has any anxiety/aggression triggers (toy aggression, food aggression, separation anxiety). I would like to know about that in advance so we can keep your dog and other guests safe. I am comfortable administering medicine, including insulin, oral medications, and topical medications. I would like to know if he/she has a medical condition that could make their stay less enjoyable (epilepsy or chronic pain).

A typical day

A typical day includes waking up and eating breakfast, going outside for potty and play. Working indoors and/or outdoors depending on the weather. Lunchtime break and more play. After work and dinner, includes additional playtime outdoors until the sun goes down. We do have a lighted back patio for those late night potty breaks as needed.

Availability

I work from home M-F. Drop offs and pick up times are flexible, preferably after 7am and before 8pm. I also have an SUV equipped with (2) intermediate-sized crates if you would like to arrange for me to pick up or drop off your pets ($1 per mile from my house to yours and then back to my house) Dogs will get plenty of love, snuggles, and attention. It's hard to be ignored in this house! Because I want your dog(s) to get the most attention, we do limit our house to 4 guest dogs at a time.
