Pet care experience
Dogs have always been members of the family to me and are integral parts of everyone's life, so I treat every dog with the love and care that they deserve! I grew up in a family full of dog lovers of every size, and had two pet pugs until I was 25 that were VERY high-maintenance, so I am ready for anything. Whether it's playing fetch in the yard, feeding them to keep them healthy and happy, basic training for treats, or long walks around the neighborhood, I believe spending time with dogs is the best way to make any day better! When I moved out on my own, I found all of the opportunities I could to spend time with pups whether it be therapy dogs, neighborhood dogs, or shelter dogs. During my time in Philly, one of my favorite things to do was to walk foster dogs at the local pet shelter. I wanted to adopt them all! I'm looking forward to getting to know the pups of Richmond!

Amanda was phenomenal with taking care of Indi while I was out of town. Indi was feeling very sick and Amanda gave consistent updates and went above and beyond to help take care of her and make sure she was as comfortable as possible. As I know how important it is to make sure your loved furry friend is safe and happy- I take the job of taking care of your pet to heart. I will follow instructions diligently, making sure to provide a seamless experience for your pet and respect your home. All pets are different and have different needs, so getting to know what your pet needs and enjoys like belly rubs, favorite toys, favorite fire hydrant, all the things that would give your dog love and care is at the top of my priority list. I am happy to stop in and feed your pet, spend some quality time, go for nice long (or short) walks, to make sure your pet continues to feel love when you are away!

As someone who takes a lot of thought and care into taking care of a furry friend, please let me know how I can make your pup most comfortable whether it be following a certain schedule, specific potty times, enjoying a special treat, playing with a special toy, or taking a certain walking route- I want to be sure your furry companion receives the love and care that they deserve! Also, please let me know if your pup is friendly with other pets and people they may encounter on walks so I know whether to let them sniff a new friend or redirect them to walk a different route. If they have behavioral differences that you feel it would be helpful to share, I am also all ears! I am here for you and your pet to make your time away easier!
A typical day
As a dog walker and sitter, a typical day can be filled with adventure, exercise, and bonding with your loved furry companion. I always prioritize the safety and well-being of the dogs in my care by paying attention to their individual needs, preferences, and any potential behavior differences. I love long walks around Richmond whether it be in the Fan, Museum District, Scott's Addition and more! If you have a yard, I would love to play with your pup to get their heart pumping to kick off a nice morning or afternoon nap! I will be sure to have a fun treat in store (if you approve!)- rewards are fun for humans and dogs! For walks- the typical walk will last around 20-30 minutes on average. If your pup has different plans, I will let you know! I will take them inside to make sure they are nice and comfy before I head out! I will make sure the water bowl is full to keep them hydrated :) For drop-ins- I will drop by for 25-30 minutes to spend some quality time with your pup! We can run around in the yard (if you have one) and/or do approved play in your home. I will make sure they will have lots of pets and cuddles (if they like that) and are given the food and water they need to be strong and happy. If they like a certain tv show, radio channel, or YouTube channel (my previous dog LOVED Yoga with Adrienne) I will be sure to put it on when I'm there and keep it on when I leave if you want me to do so! Expect some pictures to see that we're having fun :) This drop-in does not include a walk! If you want that service, please also book a walk! For overnights- Similar to drop-ins, I will ensure your pup is fed and loved on. In addition, I will also be sure to give them an evening walk if that is desired and have some playtime before bed! Please let me know where and when they sleep to make sure that they are comfortable, and also where you feel most comfortable with me sleeping, any alarm systems that I need to be aware of, which bathroom is best for me to use etc. Leaving pups overnight can be hard, so I will do my absolute best to make your dog feel safe and loved! I will also send along pictures to help ease any anxiety that you may have!

Availability
Since I am a student in a doctoral program at VCU, my flexibility differs week to week. Here is a tentative look at my availability on weekdays: Mondays- 9am-12pm (evenings are available, too) Wednesdays- 1:30pm-3pm (evenings are available, too) Fridays- 12:30pm onwards (evening availability is variable) Weekends- If I am in town- I am flexible all day and evening Also, as a student, teacher, and dog walker, I am very organized and will never say yes to taking care of a pet if I do not have the time and energy!
