Since I was a little girl I have been actively doing rescues. We always had animals we were caring for- an abandoned litter of kittens we needed to feed through the night, sick cats, stray rescue dogs, hurricane rescue animals, etc. The humane society called us to help whenever it was needed. We also always had a family dog that I trained and my neighbor always had exotic animals of every type- spiders, reptiles, birds, and when she'd leave for vacation I would take care of them. Have a love of the outdoors and am very active so if you have a high energy dog, no worries, I will make sure they get long walks/multiple walks/day and lots of play time. Twelve years ago, I rescued an 8 mos old pitbull while living in Colorado. He was my baby and our family. He was a lot of work due to his 1st 8 mos in an abusive situation. He 1st had separation anxiety (which we got him over), and was protective of the car and house - this taught me how to read dog behavior big time as we couldn't risk something happening. Because of those 12 yrs of experience, know that your dogs will be safe and protected because of my ability to read behavior and prevent issues BEFORE they happen. I also have a great deal of confidence handling big dogs, puppies and understand the needs of senior dogs as I've taken care of two of my own now.
