Pet care experience
I have 3 dogs of my own, one of whom is a spicy 11 year old chihuahua who’s been my best friend since he was just 10 weeks old. I also have a quirky, mischievous little mutt named Atlas and a sweet, teddy bear boy who was a foster fail… Which brings me to the best part - I’ve been fostering dogs for the past almost four years for an area rescue. Although I’m the go to girl for a good block-headed pit bull, I have fostered dogs of all breeds, ages, sexes, sizes, temperaments, energy levels, etc. That includes pack introductions and integration with my own dogs as well as some work in basic obedience, manners and socialization. I’ve taken on tons of “problem dogs” for the rescue when a placement hasn’t worked out and consistently had successful outcomes. The founder of the rescue affectionately calls me The Dog Whisperer. Your dog will love me. You will trust me.
Reviews
Amanda is a natural with dogs and I immediately knew that she would take good care of our babies. She was reliable, kind, patient and our pups loved her. She followed all of our instructions and even went above and beyond by hand feeding one of our dogs who has separation anxiety. We'll definitely be booking with Amanda again.
I have known Amanda for many years now and she is just amazing with all dogs!! It doesn't matter the breed, size, age or need of the dog she will give them the upmost love!!!! She treats every dogs as her own. She is a foster at my rescue and she never steers away any dog. Amanda loves the most challenging ones. Amanda is just amazing and has such a heart of gold and love for animals!!!!

I’d expect to have a conversation about your dogs unique personality, needs and quirks but overall I have an extremely affectionate approach with my dogs. I make pup cakes to celebrate birthdays. We go on adventures outside whenever possible. All the pets and silly voices and forehead kisses.
Information Amanda L. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to let me know in advance if your dog has any behavioral quirks including: food aggression, leash aggression, fear of males/females, reactivity to other dogs, etc. None of these issues are unmanageable but in order to create the most positive experience for your pupper, I need to bring them to the best-suited environment for their unique needs.
A typical day
I take my own dogs to all sorts of fun and stimulating settings - dog parks, beaches, neighborhood walks. But we also do quiet hikes in the woods. Regardless of setting, the goal of any adventure is to let the dogs explore at their pace, not mine. We take the time to stop and smell the roses. And sticks. And grass. And hydrants. Suspicious acorns. Bushes. All of it.

I’m currently taking a breather from the professional world after spending the last ten years in the human services world, several of those managing a residential program for adults with brain injuries. (Yes, I also take care of people). The spiritual burn out is real. I’m taking some time to focus on things that bring me joy and that most definitely includes hanging out with doggos. I’m super flexible and have plenty of available time.
